Trump finally says Obama born in U.S.

....says the people who don't want him to look bad for more reasons. Those of us who are not members of his cult of personality would like to know more about who he is.

I don't vote.
I think he is brilliant in terms of selling himself and a hilarious **** poster/troll.

I have not said one thing about whether I like his politics, because it doesn't matter.
My politics aren't going to be elected no matter who runs.

If you don't vote then your opinion is irrelevant. Those of us who do vote are interested in who becomes the President of the country, and want to see the same transparency of him that is expected of everybody else.

Good luck.
Get back to me in about 3000 years. (broad and horrible estimate)

Yes..........................................she was.

Was Hillary Clinton the Original ‘Birther’?

I think you need to re-read your source a little more thoroughly.

From your Factcheck.org article:

Two Republican presidential candidates [Ted Cruz and Donald Trump] claim the so-called “birther” movement originated with the Hillary Clinton campaign in 2008. While it’s true that some of her ardent supporters pushed the theory, there is no evidence that Clinton or her campaign had anything to do with it.

...

It is certainly interesting, and perhaps historically and politically relevant, that “birther” advocacy may have originated with supporters of Hillary Clinton — especially since many view it as an exclusively right-wing movement. But whether those theories were advocated by Clinton and/or her campaign or simply by Clinton “supporters” is an important distinction. Candidates are expected to be held accountable for the actions of their campaigns. Neither Cruz nor Trump, whose campaign did not respond to our request for backup material, provides any compelling evidence that either Clinton or her campaign had anything to do with starting the so-called birther movement.

except he added 2 lies to the mix when he said it, and it is not over until he apologizes to Obama for lying about Obama's birth.

Trump is and remains a pathetic loser when it comes to his disgusting birtherism.

Well, aside from attributing the origins of the birther movement on Hillary, what was the other lie he told? (I didn't see the press conference and was only able to quickly peruse the OP article and accompanying video before I got pulled away on other matters.)

He needed to get this out of the way before the first debate. It's been hanging over his head for at least 5 years. He may still be asked about his reversal though.

Of course he did. How could he possibly pander for the African-American vote with this albatross still hanging over his head? The flip side, however, is that he may lose some credibility among his supporters who believed Trump would never give ground on any issue no matter what and especially not this one.

I think Trump has gambled that abandoning the birth angle was a risk worth taking. After all, legitimizing Pres. Obama's "citizenship" status doesn't remove the stigma that in the minds of his most ardent supporters that he still didn't meet "natural-born" status to be constitutionally eligible for the presidency. Furthermore, if he can successfully deflect ownership of the birther movement's origins onto Hillary, in Trump's mind that puts him in the clear. Except as other posters have made clear, acknowledging Obama's birth to the soil doesn't absolve him from giving the President a formal apology. Thus, for some people the issue really isn't dead...just glossed over.

Well he said he finished it, but he did not finish it at all after he proved his birth in Hawaii and he most certainly did not do that.

Even in 2014 he claimed Obama's birth certificate was false and was not born in Hawaii.

And he is the birther in chief and that can also be seen by the huge number of his supporters who believed his lies hook line and sinker.

True...and I don't expect he ever will.

Man, liberals really do think republicans are little bitches don't they? I mean, tell me the last time a liberal ever apologized, and I mean really apologized for anything f'ed up they said about republican's? That's right, never! So, now tell me why you think Trump, or anyone for that matter should EVER apologize to a liberal?

Kudos to Trump for finally admitting that the whole sick, racist birtherism smear was BS. Just a way for him to get some headlines.

Unfortunately he crapped all over himself anyway by claiming that Hillary Clinton started the whole thing. That's a lie, what Trump said today was a lie, again, but what else would we expect from the king of liars?

That myth has been enthusiastically pushed by the right-wing media and, lately, parroted as fact by some of the mainstream media elite. CNN’s Wolf Blitzer claimed on the air Sept. 9 that the birther movement began “not with Hillary Clinton but some of her aides,” which is also demonstrably false.
Although things certainly got nasty as the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination slipped out of Clinton’s hands and into those of the then-freshman senator from Illinois, there is no evidence that Clinton, or her campaign, started the rumors that Obama was not actually a U.S. citizen.

Trump on Birtherism: Wrong, and Wrong
Was Hillary Clinton the Original ‘Birther’?

Trump is such a liar he even lies about the subject on the same day he admits he was misleading America for five years about it.

I wouldn't say that people believed it as much as we sure loved how it made punk liberals loose their mind....

Whaaaaat? You mean that not one, but BOTH liberal "fact checking" sites say that Hillary didn't start the birther lie, when we know that her staff did? Wow.....I am shocked.

Are you shocked that Trump lied about it? Were you shocked that Trump used this racist smear for five years for his personal political advantage? Probably not, right?

Not much in politics shocks me....Except when someone tries to use supposed fact checking sites that have no credibility.

Um... Hilliary has not been part of the birthed movement, and she was not the one going around demanding that Obama release his birth certificate.

Look at it this way.

Hillary believes Trump is responsible for David Duke's support of his candidacy even though Duke isn't part of his campaign.
That would mean that ...
Hillary is responsible for the one who peddled the birther story and he/she DID work on her 2008 campaign.
And that doesn't even count Sid Blumenthal, her cerebral cortex, who peddled the story that Obama was born in Kenya at that time.

That was the birther incipience.

oh MY, Trump sure milked that story for tones of publicity. I think he went too far actually, he should have ended it in Cleveland.

Come down off that high horse of yours, my man.

All I said was I didn't expect he'd every apologize. That's just stating an opinion that we all readily accept as truth. He won't. But that's not to say that I condemn him for it. On the contrary!

I'm very much aware that few politicians if any ever truly apologize for being wrong about anything. It doesn't matter which party they belong to. Neither step into that honesty chamber and readily admit they were wrong. To that, all Trump did here was relent on his birther claims by acknowledging that Pres. Obama was born here. He'll probably still go down that "anchor baby" road only in reverse (i.e., father impregnates America female to claim American-born off-spring), but for me...I was done with this issue long ago. So, it really doesn't matter to me where Trump ever admitted Obama's U.S. birth or not. He was a flamboyant loon then and he's still a flamboyant loon now.

I personally do not care where the pathological liar Barack Obama (aka Barry Soetoro) was born.

I only care about where he resides right now, which is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington DC.

I really wish he didn't live there.
I would love for him to stay somewhere else.

Prison would be nice.
Or some other country, very far away.

That is all.

Okay...How 'bout we try this...

7 News Stories from 2008 that PROVE Hillary Started Obama 'Birtherism' - Media is LYING!

The Harball segment with Chris Matthews seems to be the only source used in an attempt to support the idea that Hillary Clinton was the originator of the birther movement. But...

If you follow the chain of events leading up to the interview Matthews conducted with Clinton supporter, Bob Kerrey, what you'll hear is Kerrey actually condemns the claims that Obama was some sort of Manchurian Candidate and believed his diversity (growing up in Indonesia) would be a plus not a minus for him. You can watch the video and listen to what Kerrey says for yourself.

Chris Matthews may have suggested that Hillary wasn't being sincere about the origins of Obama's birth, but that in no way means Hillary made such a claim herself. Point still remains, there's no evidence Hillary herself started the birther movement. Her supporters certainly went out on a limb in some instances attempting to claim that Obama wasn't "as American" as Hillary or that he "didn't share Hillary's American values," but there's no evidence that Hillary made any such claims herself that Obama wasn't born in America.

Prison is a little harsh....I'd be satisfied if he just disappeared to Hawaii never to be heard from again.

No, and I don't believe that Hillary would have any trail to starting it, but her inner circle at the time most definitely did, and if you think that she wasn't privy to the conversations about what was to take place in all aspects of that, then you're being naive....
