Gary Johnson "What is Aleppo?"

So anyone who criticizes Trump is a blow-hard now? Nice logical fallacy you have there.

Trump, a New Yorker, was referring to Fire Station #711. You, a blowhard, couldn't understand what his words meant, yet you all but made that the focal point of your anti Trump post.

I have no problem with people criticizing Trump, comes with the territory. I do have a problem with people who twist Trump's words to try to discredit him in people's eyes.

Trump has no clue that firehouse 7 exists. Pathetic attempt of spin.

This is the view from his penthouse

"Willful ignorance" is just a polite way to say "dumb" or "stupid".

Not really dumb or stupid is usually biological in nature, willful ignorance is a determined stance usually based on a fear of having their world view destroyed.

Ignorance is considered an asset to right wing voters.

If Gary Johnson wanted to endear himself to conservatives, all he had to say was "I don't know what aleppo is, just nuke all the ragheads and be done with it."

Not too surprising. The libertarian philosophy is pretty far removed from academia, and rational thought.

yeah libertarians really scare the crap out of those who either want to remain perpetual children or demand they serve as everyone else's parents.

Hiroshima level of fail there

And so in rebuttal, you offer a post that is non-academic, irrational, and childish.

Cheers

your hatred of freedom is really devoid of rational thought and childish. it was a libertarian philosophy upon which this country was founded. Not a teat sucking dependence that you seem to prefer

Thats a solid observation. A libertarian politician really does not need to memorize all the usual material because they never have a need for it. Instead its all the normal libertarian pie-in-the-sky and its a pie which is never baked, never sold, never bought, and never eaten to see if it is any good.

No, he talked about Syria and is aware that it is going on. He didn't get the advantage of security briefings like Clinton and Trump, so he won't know as much as they do. He should have gotten the city right. He didn't, he owned up to it, but he wasn't caught. He continued the conversation and talked about Syria.

...I saw it live.... he looked like a guy called on in class that failed to do last night's assignment. His answer was weak and, he should have known what Aleppo was. He did not do the work.

Stop covering for him and say "yes, it was a mistake"... it doesn't make him a bad guy, it just makes him another flawed candidate running in 2016.

Did you even read the quote of mine you quoted?

e should have gotten the city right. He didn't, he owned up to it,

Mostly I think this is being overblown because it's Johnson, and the press needs to cast him in as negative a light as possible. If one of the main candidates had done it, it would have been a flub, a gaffe, but we wouldn't be talking about it "ending" their political run. And still...if this is the worst thing he's done, he's still leagues ahead of Trump and Clinton.
This.

Essentially the same forces (often aligned with Hillary) that are anti-Stein are likewise targeting Johnson in order to help keep the vote as consolidated as possible amongst the Dems and Repubs.

It's particularly noticeable and jarring in Stein's case because Hillary's people are by far the most critical of her despite being much more closely aligned with her politics than the Republicans (which is exactly the danger).

Ported from the other thread.

Nor checked by a public health inspector. That would be socialism.

“What is Aleppo?” Mr. Johnson said when asked on MSNBC how, as president, he would address the refugee crisis in the war-torn Syrian city."

The best that can be said is that he seems to know as much about foreign policy as Trump.

Don't you just hate it when the NYT gets caught lying again? I just watched the video. He was asked, "What would you do about Aleppo?" He got a blank look and said, "What is Aleppo?" Then the pompous prick asking questions said, "You're kidding."
Gary Johnson explains Aleppo flub: ‘I blanked’ - POLITICO

What would you do about Zika? What would you do about fracking? What would you do about PNP? What would you do about twerking? What would you do about Ferguson? That question, in all it's permutations is made as a gotcha. When the smarmy twit said, "It's a city in Syria," Gov. Johnson said, "Right, got it," and went on to address the question.

The question was rigged. The NYT lied again. And the post that started the thread is no more honest than the NYT.

And the best part, Gov. Johnson has said, "I just blanked." He didn't lie. He didn't deny. He didn't have surrogates explaining. In other words, it didn't act like the Democrats, Clinton and Trump.

I'd like to see this twit ask one of the Democrats, "What would you do about Nablus?" And, when they said, "What is Nablus," he could sneer and say, "You're kidding." Of course, we'll never see that.

Rigged? How do you rig a question? It was a simple question.

And bam

Gary Johnson: 'What is Aleppo?' - CNNPolitics.com

owned up to it, tried to explain how he got caught up, but takes responsibility for it and has taken steps to rectify it. Would Clinton or Trump acknowledge their gaffe and try to rectify it?

Thats nice n'stuff, but if he doesn't know what is happening in the world then how can he have a coherent foreign policy plan? We're less than two months away from election day and such ignorance of current events is unacceptable.
