(CNN)- Flights from London City Airport were suspended Tuesday morning after a group of Black Lives Matter activists locked themselves together in a protest on the runway, an airport representative said.

Black Lives Matter UK said on its Twitter account that activists in support of the movement had taken the action "to protest the UK's environmental impact on black people."

I swear, these BLM protests are just getting even dumber as time goes on. And what a great way to convince people to join your movement by being a giant inconvinence to people.

But thankfully the BLM protesters were arrested.

You can thank social media for the spread of his nonsense. Ridiculous protest in a country where I can count police shootings from last year on one hand.

The UK's "environmental impact on black people"? What does that even mean translated from SJW talk?

No ****ing idea. I think BLM is just protesting for the sake of protesting at this point.

What police brutality is going on in the UK anyways?

Our police fired their weapons 7 times last year. So not much is the answer.

They arrested black people. That's the brutality.:mrgreen:

I think that is fine. The airport is private, I believe. So the demonstrators were holding their demonstration on private land, trespassing and disturbing the business being transacted.

They should be personally responsible for damages to the point of personal bankruptcy and prosecuted for trespassing.

That is even less than in Germany. Of course, brutality is better performed with a bat than a bullet.

Agreed.

Yes, some black people are getting sick and tired of being accused of and arrested for the crimes they commit.

You can thank George Soros for funding any group willing to cause chaos and disrupt normal society.

This group, like our own BLM people should have been piled along the runway until they rotted.

Despite what Idi Amin claimed, the UK is not in Africa.

Try actually reading the OP link - it states the reasons given by BLM-UK for the protest.

The group's statement said the UK's impact on the environment was global, with "7 out of 10 of the countries most affected by climate change ... in sub-Saharan Africa." Climate change, it said, was creating huge numbers of climate refugees.

"Whilst at London City Airport a small elite is able to fly, in 2016 alone 3,176 migrants are known to have died or gone missing in the Mediterranean, fleeing conditions that they did not create because cheaper, easier and most importantly safer avenues have been blocked by the UK and other European countries," the statement said.

"Black people are the first to die, not the first to fly, in this racist climate crisis."

An image tweeted from the Black Lives Matter UK account showed the protesters on the runway, alongside banners saying "Black Lives Matter" and "Climate Crisis Is a Racist Crisis."

Oh, so they're complaining about the fact that there's no cheap way to get to the UK from sub-Saharan Africa.

They want a "free", meaning paid for by the evil rich white folks, way for many thousands of black folks to burn tons of jet fuel to fight (escape from?) glow bull warming. ;)

Its just part of the grand BLM scheme of demanding reparations.

If there's one thing everybody seems to agree on, it's that all perceived wounds can be salved by dinero.

That's right. It's our fault that Africans can't afford to flee from their own coal-fired power plants.
