The U.S. Supreme Court declined Wednesday to reinstate North Carolina's voting restrictions for the November election.
The high court deadlocked 4-4 on whether to let the state reimpose key provisions of the 2013 Republican-backed voting law, seen by many experts as the strictest in the country.
The state could be pivotal in the presidential race, and also hosts tight Senate and governor's races.

I keep repeating the same thing over and over
if people want voter ID laws then make the law about . . wait for it . . .ID . . LMAO

Its already been shown when the law is about ID the super vast majority of people support it


as soon as you start redrawing voting lines and closing polling places and stop early voting, restrict voting days etc etc the honest and educated people see its BS and NOT about ID :)

This was a state law, not a federal one.

It was challenged at the state level, and the lower court struck the law down.

You think it's racist to assume that black people already have or can easily get a photo ID already needed in pretty much every aspect of daily life?

Don't think they really care as they do not vote...

It is, however, bad news for Republicans, who want to suppress that black vote, as that doesn't work out too well for them. Back to the drawing board.....

Perhaps if the party just wasn't such a safe haven for racists, the Republican agenda might get some attention and the Republicans might actually earn a few black votes... then they wouldn't have to be so afraid.

And every election year Republicans wonder why minorities aren't voting Republican. It is a mystery. lol

Even after their loss in 2012 Republican EXPERTS said to win the GOP had to make nice with minorities and younger women. But no, Trump keeps alienating them and some states are determine revive Jim Crow.

Of well. Maybe the GOP will smarten up in 2020.

The GOP could smarten up in 2020 but they would first have to purge themselves of the racist element in the ale-right, tea party and just plain haters who do make up a good chunk of the party today.

And they will not do that since it would cost them votes.

As for the ruling: Republican state official Mike Turzai in Pennsylvania told the word the real motivation behind these voter ID laws and we should never forget that.

It is a false assumption that citizenship can't be verified anywhere in the voting process just because an ID isn't checked at the voting booth.
