That's very telling. Those are white supremacist sayings.
There is a difference between white and all the other minorities in this country. Whites have never been denied anything in this country. Just the opposite. Whites have had the power, the control, the money, and full rights, while all the other minorities have been limited by the whites in one way or another. A minority being proud of his culture (not his race) grew out of that background...being denied full rights because of his race. That is not true of whites. It's ludicrous to suggest.
The statements about diversity are likewise ludicrous. Saying white neighborhoods should be more diversified grew out of the fact that the best neighborhoods, and in some places the only good neighborhoods, were white, who would not let minorities live there. Hence the declaration that white neighborhoods need more diversity. It makes no sense to say that black neighborhoods should be more diversified because blacks are not preventing whites from living there. In our history, blacks would gladly have moved to a white neighborhood and sold their house to a white, but that was not allowed by whites. Also, minorities typically have not prevented other minorities from living in their neighborhoods. You'll find blacks, hispanics, and asians all living in the same neighborhoods. This has historically not been true of white neighborhoods, which systematically (and legally) prevented minorities from living in their neighborhoods.
This is the twisted logic used by hate groups to get not too intelligent people to go along with them. (Or intelligent people who do know the history and truth and the ludicrousness of the statements, but choose to help perpetuate the illogical statements to those who don't know better.)
You have to view hate group statements in the context of the country's history. Besides, I know no one who says it's improper to be proud of one's culture. There IS a black culture. Not so much a white culture, since the whites in our country came here from all over the globe and consist of many different cultures. Asians are typically proud of their specific culture, as well. Not that they are "Asian," but rather, that they are Chinese or Japanese, etc. I've never heard anyone, minority or white, say it's improper to be proud of one's culture or heritage like German, Irish, French, etc. We have St Patty's parades, German parades and food fests, French events (Mardi Gras), etc. The country even allows KKK parades.
