Andrea Tantaros of Fox News Claims Retaliation for Sex Harassment Complaints

Fox News masquerades as a defender of traditional family values, but behind the scenes, it operates like a sex-fueled, Playboy Mansion-like cult, steeped in intimidation, indecency and misogyny,” Ms. Tantaros’s suit says.

During arbitration, Mr. Burstein said, Fox News offered to pay her a sum “in the seven figures” if she renounced claims against Mr. Ailes and others at the network, including the host Bill O’Reilly. According to the lawsuit, Ms. Tantaros said she had been subjected to unwelcome advances from Mr. O’Reilly, whom she had regarded as a friend and adviser.

Don't we require a bit more information than a claim of unwelcome advances? I've been sexually harassed many times in my life in the workplace. Let me just tell you that if someone had offered ME a seven figure settlement to retract, I would have done so without hesitation. Either way, her career is toast.

No kidding. Does anyone know where one can go to get sexually harassed by Roger Ailes? Asking for a friend.

FOX has claimed that the real reason Andrea was sidelined was because she wrote a book without permission. Andrea has claimed that it is because she didn't like being sexualized.

The book in question:

This is what I always do with incident like these: I neither believe nor disbelieve the accusation, but regardless I take it into serious consideration.

Does he have a sister?

I'm beginning to understand why old white dudes watch so much Fox. Call me tempted.

Childish motivation, this isn't the only network with a problem, and I never thought they were some family values Christian type network. That is madeup ****.

Women Journalists Share Their Stories of Sexual Harassment

The problem is really, and maybe if you hadn't brought this up in a partisan way, you'd have an important thread. This problem isn't partisan.

Interesting: define the harassment. I ask because it seems that sexual harassment is subjective.

You are one naughty girl.

Her career is fine she has a radio show and will soon move to CNN as a contributor once the Trump apologists are jettisoned.

We do, although the information is coming from the plaintiffs. Fox hasn't said much.

Tantaros is claiming that:
- O'Reilly, Ailes, and other senior staffers (the latter two qualifying as her superiors) made unwelcome advances, threats and tried to humiliate her
- Fox had sock puppets targeting her on social media
- When she refused to spin around for Ailes' viewing pleasure, she was demoted
- Ailes accused her of using an ex-boyfriend
- After rebuffing Ailes repeatedly, Fox publicity department largely ignored her, and that "the sole interview arranged by the publicity department during that period was with a writer for a blog controlled by Fox, who asked about her breasts and if she was difficult to work with"

IIRC she had also tried to resolve this internally, and claims she was ultimately was fired as a result.

This is obviously only a part of what she's claiming. As per usual, the lawyers are basically lobbing a big rock, expecting Fox will settle rather than let more damaging claims go public.

Huh?

If she is telling the truth (which has not been established yet), then why should her career suffer as a result of getting harassed?

The Bill Shine guy doesn't seem long for the network and this is just another reminder that O'liely (a HUGE supporter of Trump) is a scumbag

If Fox News is a "sex-feuled, Playboy-like cult" ---- why on earth would you work there? It seems to me like they were fine with it until they got fired or demoted.

I'm guessing it's because of the $$$$$$$$$$$.

Well, at least you are a step ahead of Bill and Hillary Clinton.

A lot of their viewers seem to be liberals who just can't wait to jump on everything they say. I swear, liberals watch FOX News more than any other group. They're always quoting FOX News said this, FOX News said that.
