It sure sounds like Donald Trump is considering his biggest flip-flop yet

If this clown gets elected button down the hatch.:(

<Update: Trump appeared on Fox News on Monday morning and said he is considering his immigration position, but that it isn't a flip-flop. He said he wanted a "very fair but firm answer.">

<"We have to be very, very strong when people come in illegally," Trump said. "We have a lot of people that want to come in through the legal process, and it's not fair for them. We're working with a lot of people in the Hispanic community to try and come up with an answer.>

<"No, I'm not flip-flopping. We want to come up with a really fair but firm answer. That's -- it has to be very firm. But we want to come up with something fair.">

<,But according to reports and the suggestions of his top advisers on Sunday, it sounds as if he's considering seriously changing his tune — in what would amount to a stunning flip-flop.>

<Asked twice whether he was sticking with his plan for a deportation force, newly installed Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway deflected and then told CNN that it was "to be determined.">

<Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), meanwhile, said Trump is "wrestling" with how to handle illegal immigrants already in the United States.>

They unquestioningly loved the fraud when he was convincing them that Mexicans were coming over the border to rape us. They cheered like housewives at a Tom Jones concert when he said we need to close the borders to all Muslims. Now, his handlers are causing him to walk it back some....so much for "telling it like it is", huh?

I'm just kind of surprised he's walking it back before November. That's not what his hard-core support wants to hear... at all.

No offense, do you really think they'll not vote for him, too much vested in him at this point. The Cult of Personality needs more than this to be abolished.

You're right, it isn't what they want to hear. That's why I'm also surprised. No, scratch that - nothing Donald Trump does surprises me anymore.

His supporters are too invested at this point to change course, even though Trump himself is doing it.

I guess his real hard core will stick, they've got nowhere else to go after all, but there may be quite a few towards the edges who may be put off by his constant flip-flopping on just about everything.

From my experience the people who are for him, are for him not based as much on "Issues" as "attitude". Trump will DO things, voting for him is Rebelling against the ELITES!!!

It's all very immature if you ask me.

He has the republican nomination. If the RNC tried to pull a substitution they would fail miserably and make the Hillary DNC collision look like childs play. Part of the appeal of Trump is he beat the odds verse Hillary who started with her nomination predeturmened.

It take a candidate like Hillary to make some people think Trump is the lesser evil. Just as it takes Trump to make Hillary look like the lesser evil.

Voting for Trump is the thing, what Trump does if he were to win is gravy. It is actually easier to vote for Trump when the elite keep saying that he cant win....if he cant win then I can lodge my complaint against the elite by voting Trump with no worries that there might be negative consequences to my action. Then next go we get a better leader, someone who has the skills to win the chair for the Rebellion.

I am in a very happy place these days.

He met with the Hispanic Council and it's rumored that they are not in disagreement with removing the welcome mat from illegals, but that long term residents of border states need a break. This meeting it is suggested was assisted by Mexico's president and Trump had to give them something.

Trump has to go after as many constituencies as he can, and the Latino's are no different. He "clarified" his point that he would not close legal immigration from Mexico and would ease off on deporting long term illegals living in the USA.

Personally, I think he is taking a page out of the democrat play book: Tell the Council what they want to hear so they can keep their jobs and move on.

BTW, you would be surprised at how many Mexicans will turn down citizenship, dual or otherwise, if offered.

I figured since were talking about trump i would substitute the word button instead of batten in honer of that rug atop his dome.:thumbs:Also hoping that he will eventually button his flapping lip up.

He's not going after Hispanics with this - unless they're insane they won't trust a word that comes out of his mouth. What he has to do is make it OK for whites to vote for him, and lots will not if he's an obvious hard line, anti-immigrant, bigot, etc. Same thing with his speech about blacks the other day - that's also geared to whites, who don't want to vote for an obvious racist, so he's playing that part now, the one who cares about 'the blacks.' Who the hell knows what the man believes....

What I can't figure out is what he's doing hiring that Breitbart guy who's pretty proud that Breitbart is THE outlet for the alt-right, which is chock full of racists, anti-semites, white nationalists. Seems to contradict his new image as the compassionate conservative, who cares about everyone.

He only needs to skim few points off one and the other. It's an electoral contest.

Speaking of blacks, who is against trying something new to give hope and reduce the slaughter? We can't go on pretending that it will fix itself.

If you didn't understand what Trump said, maybe somebody here can explain it to you.

Your posting of this thread is evidence of that.

Trump could change his stance on every topic he ran on during the primaries and he'd probably still retain 90% of his supporters. They've already decided he's their guy, so they'll change their stances on everything to justify supporting him.

Talk about futility. Considering the ****show he put for the country for the past year or so, I find it amazing that he and his campaign believe recovery to be a possibility.

Flipflopping or not, don't make the mistake of assuming that anything is capable of costing him his supporters. Once a group of people develop a messianic attachment to an individual or a group, nothing short of a brain transplant will convince them otherwise. I'm not breaking any news here; after all, Trump himself said he could go out and kill someone in the middle of 5th avenue and he still wouldn't lose supporters. Besides, we already established that Trumpers are either mentally challenged or mentally ill.

True. But if he backtracks too much on his immigration stance he will lose some support from the racists who support him. That could hurt, this whole immigration issue and him pandering to racists is what kicked off his campaign and got him the GOP Nom.

What you evidently missed was this when I posted this thread."If this clown gets elected button down the hatch."What about that statement do you disagree with?

You have to explain what it means first.

He can't win on the hard-core support. He has to gamble most will be with him when steps out on them to woo the less educated of the middle...

That is true, but there's always the possibility that racists will compromise and vote for him as the most racist candidate they had in decades, regardless if he comes to fall short of their standards.
