Trump: Sometimes you say the wrong thing

Hey, so what if he wants to make a foreign country pay for the most expansive border wall ever built since Ancient China, on its own border, or wants to start a trade war with ****ing China, or thinks Megyn Kelly is bleeding out of her whatever, or lies so much even an inveterate liar like Hillary Clinton can say "dayum, he lies a lot" and not be out of place saying it, or thinks targeting the families of Islamic militant radicals is the path to winning hearts and minds in the world's worst place, or is open to the notion of putting Muslims in work ... er, detention camps, or can't keep a campaign manager for more than a month. At least he's not "PC."

Because being anti-PC is all the qualification you need to run for POTUS!

I wonder if there is any chance at all in this thread returning to the discussion of Trump and his apology tour, or are we going to have to read "But But But.....HILLARY!" in every other post.

This minor mea culpa will mean nothing as Trump has already broken the first rule of politics: never allow your opponent to define you. And that has already been done perfectly portraying him as an egotistical, narcissistic, ill prepared person with a ill suited temperament with racist and sexist tendencies - not to mention being a just plain mean bully - who will only be dangerous if he is allowed power.

It's called showing hypocrisy in ones arguement.

Well, no it's not. This is a thread about Trump's (IMO) non-apology apology, and unless I mentioned Obama here or elsewhere in a way that indicates I am holding him to a different standard (I didn't) then there is no hypocrisy being demonstrated.

What it's called is you inserting a red herring or straw man argument into this discussion.

Oh he was just being sarcastic or oh he didn't mean literally or he didn't really mean that as he just gets caught up in the heat of things.

Trump is just the carnival carnie trying to get your money and is not your friend.

Says who, Haymarket? Says who?

He apologized, think Hillary will ever do the same thing? How do you know when Hillary is lying? She opens her mouth and words come out and yet people like you still support her.

I find it baffling that anyone can support either Republocrat candidate.

Well, to be fair to Trump, he defined himself pretty well as all that without any need for anyone else to do that for him. It's one thing he has accomplished all on his own.

Excellent point. And the Clinton ads remind us of that every hour.

Having regrets is not the same as apologizing. Trump has never apologized for anything in his life! Does he and his campaign manager think people are that gullible - we all know why this statement was made - he's falling in the polls ....no other reason....he didn't say "I am sorry" for anything or to anyone....he didn't say what he specifically regrets....heck...for all we know he regrets the tie he had on yesterday!

Obviously. Trump knows his little "Tell it like it is" Parade is beginning to screw him over in the polls.

One thing I'm sometimes happy about but sometimes miss is my state is so red no presidential candidate wastes any money advertising here, so I never see any ads for POTUS.

Neither do I. All I see is this really annoying Starburst commercial being played constantly.

Outright lies? You talking about Hillary? How do you know when Hillary is lying-she opens her mouth and words come out. With Trump it is refreshing to put aside that PC crap

Hillary's lies don't absolve Trumps lies. If you hate Hillary so much why would you use her behavior to justify Trump's?

He lied about who founded Isis. Then he lied and said it was sarcasm. The man apparently doesn't know what sarcasm is. Sarcasm would have been him saying that Hillary was the best Secretary of State ever but not really meaning it.

Oh yeah, he lied about not having time to be PC. It doesn't take any extra time to not be a boorish asshole.

Donald Trump seems to be taking clues from Obama??? Apparently going on an apology tour this afternoon Trump actually for the first time since the start of his candidacy admitted some faults of his own doing. Talking about the status of the campaign and the need to do more. But many say it's too late and the damage has already been done or Trump can't keep this pace going. It's not in his personality.

So tomorrow when he says he has no regrets, will today matter to the chumpettes?

She is so terrible that they use her as the standard of decency.

I see what you did there.;)

In the RNC Convention, Donald told us he would never lie to us and in the weeks following made statements that were blatantly false. So now he says he 'regrets' making those statements, etc. He didn't say it was WRONG or APOLOGIZE. He 'regrets' they impacted negatively on the polls.

The most IMPORTANT thing he said with the Regret statement was, "I will always tell the Truth." Got to Factcheck.org/Donald Trump and see how 'truthful' he has been. Do the same for /Hillary.

I am counting the days until he lies to the American voters again. This is 1.

Donald will be Donald. His new campaign staff says they 'will let Donald be Donald'. Wonderful news in that we can expect more of the same in spite of himself. As Donald reads the teleprompter, we should be able to hear people say how 'low energy and flat' he is....... Whoops. Somebody on CNN just said that.

MOST IMPORTANTLY. The President of the United States is EXPECTED to be articulate enough to SAY what he means and MEAN what he says. The President can't have (WHO- the Vice President?) run to the media and say the President didn't really mean what he said but meant to say this or that? A comment that 'a city in Russia just might turn into a smoking hole in the ground' could not be explained away as 'sarcasm' or he was illustrating the point that the US will never take the nuclear option off the table. That is what scares the heck out of those intelligence people, GOP Senators, and a bunch of Voters.

Greetings, haymarket. :2wave:

Well, it probably does add a bit of excitement to those millions whose complaints are either never heard or ignored! Who's going to argue back and say "you are being ridiculous?"

Now, Hillary needs a staff that will say "We won't let Hillary be Hillary!" That might get her more votes.
