Amazingly smart guy, had a very full and successful life. RIP.

Oh ****! Someone started a thread the other day about him missing his first show in decades. I adored that man. One of my very early heroes. I loved to watch him with my mother when she was dying. He looked so much like my father. His accent was awesome, he was a very smart and classy man. I'll miss his "buhyy buhyy" at the end of his shows.

Great man. Smart. Wonderful moderator. RIP John.

Loved the McLaughlin Group and watched if faithfully for decades. Knew John was having issues for the past month or so, as his speech became somewhat weak and slurred and when they had a rerun a couple of weeks ago and then the absentee appearance of John last week, it seemed obvious that John was not long for the show, but hoped he would be fine otherwise.

A terrific man and a great entertainer who knew how to combine a variety of personalities and ideologies for an interesting discussion group. Can't see it continuing with a different moderator and I'll greatly miss it.

RIP and strength and comfort to all his extended family and friends.

We lose an icon.

And what a work ethic!

Did John know when he was going to die? He said he knew everything else. "The correct answer is:...now..."

My first real taste of political debate amongst the punditry, as an adult. I really liked his show.

Bye byuuuuh! RIP John

"The McGlaughlin Group" may have been the best and only truly balanced debate/discussion group ever on television.

A legend in this country, in the world of the Free Press, and in the world as a whole. He will be missed.

He will be missed by myself and millions. Bye Bye John. RIP

He and Germond are having one hell of a debate right now.

RIP.

There's a name from the past that brings back good memories. From an age when journalists were actually honest brokers of the truth and not shills for the ownership's ideology and from a time when they also respected the personal privacy and private lives of those in the public.
