Damn, 34 years? That's one hell of a streak.

Tom Rogan is a rising star. I would like them to keep him.

Eleanor Clift is a weak representation of the political left. Very weak and a cheerleader for Hillary and Barack.

Perhaps they can replace McLaughlin with someone like Michelle Malkin or Monica Crowley.

That's some record!

[I so wanted to say "Bye, BYE ...!", but it didn't seem appropriate to the circumstance]

I'm embarrassed to admit that I exclaimed, "Good Heavens! I didn't know he was still alive."

Nevermind.

I didn't even know who this guy even was until I read the article.

Maybe you really are young? Or, Maybe you are really young? ;)

Dude used to grate on my nerves just from his shouting. He was a shouter on the teevee before it was everyday common.

I think Clift is excellent. Men tend to interrupt women, and the men on that show are constantly trying to interrupt her. She doesn't let them get away with it. She knows politics and is very informed. Few things get past her. She knows details and statistics and all the names of all the foreign leaders and the status of things in various countries. A very smart, informed participant in the show.

A replacement for Clift would have to be on the left. Do you watch the program? The premise is .... two are on the left, and two are on the right. Then McLaughlin in the middle/moderator/host. The participants are not combative, although they disagree with each other. The show is based on discussion and predictions, not arguing. That lets Michelle Malkin out. Crowley has subbed on the right a few times and did fine.

Clift will be around a while.

Trivia: Eleanor Clift was related to the late Montgomery Clift.

Ailing John McLaughlin Misses First ‘The McLaughlin Group’ In 34 Years | Deadline

Hopefully this is not the end for John however he is 89-years old. It amazes me he has been able to keep it up this long. I do wonder who would be able to replace John as the host.

He's been one of my heroes for decades. I used to watch his show with my mother when she was alive. He looks very much like my father did. I love (and use) his "Buhye buhye" (and the way he says it). I hope he returns to the set soon. Incredible show.
