Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge [W: 189]

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

Let babies die, let the innocent fry all for the crass politics of "choice".

Two can play the stupid insulting the otherside game, only you're the one defending slaughtering babies, not me.

Of course I'm defending it. Otherwise I would lose my supply of baby back ribs for my BBQ pit.

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

Another defeat for the forced birthers of the Talibornagain. Let freedom ring.

Article is here.

On what basis does the judge block this? Is there somewhere written that the government is required by law to support 501c3 non-profits?

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

You mean like if the woman's life is in danger or the fetus is dead?

Or it's a deformed baby, infected with the zika virus, that will never have consiousness?...... Oh wait. Republicans are against an abortion for that too.

Rubio: No abortions for Zika-infected women

501c3 non-profits should have the same playing field as oil companies.

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

I'll bet you're perfectly okay with big oil companies, big banks, etc. getting handouts in the form of ridiculous tax breaks.
What does that have to do with anything? Is it also unconstitutional to take away handouts to big oil? Is that a big first amendment no-no?

The hypocrisy was clear. Go back and read it.

Well, since the oil companies received tax breaks (i.e. keep more of their own money) and PP is a 501c3, which pays no taxes but gets actual government funding, I fail to see what comparison you're making.

What hypocrisy?

I asked three questions and you didn't answer any of them.

Take it easy on 'em. You don't want their little heads to explode.

Also, did a federal judge block anyone from cutting their tax incentives?

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

Making up any new slurs for those who seek to protect human life from the eugenicist's slaughter house?
No, just an apt description of self righteous dicks who can not stay out of other people's lives. The hypocrisy of one wanting to "protect life" but considers others "third world dregs" is just staggering.

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

I didn't know PPH funded abortions with taxpayer money. I thought the Congress critters prohibit that... :peace
Yea but facts matter not when ignorance is so much more self serving for some.

Yet another moronic clueless post.

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

A penny not spent is a penny received. Not including the strings attached, corporate tax breaks are effectively the same as corporate handouts, which most Republicans and some Democrats support.

Dude, tax breaks are not handouts.

I'm all for ending all handouts if that is the way you guys want to play this. We were just going to end one handout, but if you guys want to play the it's not fair game, I'm perfectly fine with ending them all.

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

You're asking a liberal to explain the law to you? What's the matter? Can't you read the decision for yourself?

Or is the problem that you can read it but you can't understand it?

http://www.dispatch.com/content/downloads/2016/08/PP_court_ruling.pdf

Maybe someone should explain to the liberal judge that there is no right to federal funds. Further, Planned Parenthood isn't a protected class under any definition of the word. They are a group that provides various services. If they were a group that denied funding because they were black, while another group that was similar but were white, then they'd have an Equal Protection Clause case.

In other words, liberal judge makes stupid ruling based on their own personal ideology. Nothing new to see here. Move along people, move along.

No, IOW you haven't read the decision. I know this because the decision was not based on any of the things (ex. right to fed funds, Equal Protection, race, etc) you mentioned

But don't give up. Maybe someday a liberal will take pity on your ignorance and explain the decision to you

PS - This "liberal judge" was named to the Fed court by bush* and approved by a republican Senate in 2006. Before that he was the Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party

There is no right to federal funds...but that is up the the Federal government to decide.

The Federal judge's ruling was against Ohio's attempt to cease federal funds to PP. When did Ohio become the Federal government?

The case was argued under the 1A Freedom of Speech, due process (they aren't being convicted of a crime so no problem there), and the equal protection clause. There wasn't a violation of any of those things.

When does a judge make a ruling based on a premise that isn't presented by the defendants?

So you KNOW that the case has nothing to do with a right to federal funds, yet that didn't stop you from dishonestly pretending that is the issue.

Thanks for proving how dishonest your argument is

Re: Ohio law defunding Planned Parenthood blocked by federal judge

the ruling was based on the suit brought by the plaintiffs. Why would the premise given as a defense by the defense be considered by the Judge in his ruling against Ohio following the law?

Because judges rule on the premises brought forward. If they argue that there was a violation of their 1A, due process, or equal protection clause then that's what is ruled on.
