He failed (as expected), left work under "stress leave" and when he returned a year later I promoted one of his employees into a job that supervised him - he quit.

I saved my job and learned a lesson - keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Once they betray you, find a way to drive them out the door without them knowing that you know.

Fortunately, Trump isn't as smart as Hitler was, and Hitler also earned two Iron Crosses for bravery under fire IIRC. If Trump had actually had front-line combat experience, I'm not sure he could have been stopped.

I'm now retired and done with employees. BUT I alway defended my employees and only had three rules: do your job, never lie to me and never go over my head without offering me an opportunity to join in resolving the problem.

After having screwed my previous boss (a great manager), he promised to follow my rules. He broke his promises and tried to get me fired because I tried to get him to come to work (he was always one to two hours late) and to deliver on time. After that I knew I had a snake. So it was nothing short of total war... by the way, the fellow later went to law school and became a shyster lawyer...figures.

Hmph. A lawyer. I've got no love for them, either. Sure, some of them are good people who try to do the right thing, but there's a lot of them that are as slimy as it gets.

Along the way I finally figured out that I didn't have the right mindset to be a good supervisor or boss. I think you probably understand that instinctively - there's some who are good at supervising, and some that might be very good workers, but couldn't supervise a pig pen. I'm one of the latter. No man likes to admit that, but...there it is.
 
"Interventions" with people afflicted with personality disorders does not have a great history of success.
 
While some intervention type meeting might have a rather short and temporary effect, in the end, Trump will be Trump and his natural instincts will take over and he simply repeat mistakes and errors over the next 96 days just as he has in the previous year. This is NOT a problem of educating a candidate to learn what he might now know. The problem here is that you have an authoritarian narcissist who believes only in himself and is driven by his own ego which has no discernible boundaries nor limits.

If you knew what you were talking about, you'd see that Trump never, ever admits fault, and you'd know that Obama simply couldn't be the same kind of person because Obama has indeed admitted fault on several occasions. You'd see that the moment someone says something that Trump takes as an insult, he attacks them back again and again...whereas if Obama attacked those who insulted him, he'd never get any sleep since he gets attacked all day every day by the Right.

America can't afford xenophobia-we are broke thanks to the current leadership. Spin it however you want but that's the cold hard truth. And your leaders are so blatantly corrupt that the ship 400 million dollars in the dark of night to our enemy and claim to be morally better than everyone else. As I said, I'm a supporter of whomever is going to STOP giving America away. I'm not you enemy but I warn that people better wake up. We are so busy arguing that the leadership in power is selling us out day in and day out.

We all need to come together because we haven't seen anything yet. Barack Obama has just begun his destruction of our country. History will look back and see him as the must corrupt leader of our time and not just of our country. So you and I can argue day in and day out over trump and Hillary - that's just what Barack wants. Instead we should all try to see one thing that the other is saying. And then stop arguing and start researching.

If we all really care about this nation we will open up our eyes. But if you think that Barack Obama gave this money and made the deal with Iraq because he truly cares about you and me, please forget what I just said. I've wasted these minutes of my time....sorry.

There are so many issues and tons of baggage to hit Hillary with. Yet Trump gets into these needless feuds. He has chronic foot in mouth disease. Still, the Republicans nominated him, they will have to live with him and the disastrous results his nomination will bring upon the GOP and the nation come November.

Shoot, I just thought of something. Nominating Trump means we all will have to live with the disastrous results in November beginning on 20 Jan 2017. Way to go GOP.

If it sounds good and reasonable to him at the moment, then he will believe it...even if he believed something totally different in past months or years. Even if you show him a clear video of him saying something 180-out, he'll explain it away...and even if his explanation makes zero sense to any 'normal' person, it would be eminently sensible to him - and again, he'd easily pass the lie-detector test.

A good psychologist could make a career studying Trump...and I suspect that some will as the years go by - I expect the movie within two, no more than three years.
