In another thread here a poster said we are "at war with Islam."

This is ISIS propaganda, in my opinion. So, charge the guy, right?

You missed my question. Is ISIS the only group that will cause America harm? Hell no. There will always be crazies. You don't just ban hurtful words. That's 100% AGAINST the Bill of Rights and is EXACTLY how Putin maintains power. If it is deemed dangerous, the text should be investigated.

I am for banning speech that endangers people's lives and tries to convince people to commit illegal acts. Rights are not absolute.

Then you would be very liked in Russia. Gay speech is deemed dangerous to the people and to civilized life (seriously), and therefore gay speech and propaganda is banned.

You would LOVE Russia. Anything that might be dangerous to the people, is banned. ISIS speech, pro-westernization speech, gay speech.
 
Georgia must have a few MLK highways so that we can further judge them by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

I am not. Why should speech that endanger people's lives be protected? Does the right to association mean joining ISIS is protected? Clearly you are sympathetic to them, you support the promotion of murder of innocent people.

Who said "protect it"? They are free to say what they want. However if intelligence suggests the speech might result in terrorism, it should be investigated. Any idiot that believes "banning" speech will do anything, needs to learn the difference between democracy and a dictatorship.

What do you think they are investigating? If they have a right to say it, you can't persecute them. You need to learn that rights are not absolute, they lose their meaning as you clearly have done that.

They aren't investigating the speech itself. They are investigating people that use it.

Yes, speech is free. Any idiot that think banning it will make things better, has seriously never been deployed and seen the reality of terrorism.

That is investigating speech, if their speech is protected you have no reason to charge them for anything. What they would be arrested for is inciting people to commit terrorism. You do not understand the concept of rights if you think they are absolute.

I don't agree.

See, a big part of ISIS propaganda is telling potential recruits that the west is trying to destroy Islam. They're invading your countries to attack your religion, better fight back! And they can "prove" that with statements straight out of the mouths of Americans like the poster in question. Or, say, Donald Trump.

Violence against INNOCENT people for political objectives. Same definition regardless of rights. BTW, if they were making threats against anyone from within the US, that's illegal. They aren't doing that.
