A Divided Senate Rejects Gun Curbs, Despite Orlando Massacre [W: 710]

you didn't answer my question. Try again

Explain what the question has to do with reducing the threat of mass murders, which are committed by mentally ill and threatening people that the system knows about, yet we allow them to legally walk in any gun store and buy their killing weapons, like Cho, Holmes, Loughner, Mateen. All were sick or reported as threatening.

very few killings are committed by the mentally ill. None of them were adjudicated mentally incompetent.

this thread was about the no fly-no buy nonsense. Terrorist watch list -not people who have an appointment with a shrink

Just most of the major mass murders. And that is the point, while not adjudicated, they are the ones over and over who commit the big mass murders, like Cho, Loughner, Holmes, and on. That is how we can tell they system today is broken as designed, and it needs to change to better protect the public.

The republicans are in control of congress, what are they doing about it? Nothing. Throw the bums out.

I have already explained the problems in trying to expand who is disbarred based on "mental illness" and the chilling effect it would have. You seem to be one of those people who constantly demand instant solutions for any of life's problems. sometimes there is no additional answer. but I will tell you one thing we have to get rid of

large numbers of people massed together and disarmed without adequate security.

The homicide rate in the US is 10 times higher per 100K people than it is in Germany, England, France or Australia, I have posted a link to that statistic in this topic. We can do better, there are additional answers, and there is proof of it in other industrialized nations homicide statistics. There are additional answers, if we value the lives of our fellow citizens enough to step up and take them.

you and Flogger keep saying that and what is true is that was the case long before Britain went on its Bannerrhoid crusade. We know gun bans or gun restrictions won't change that.

and comparing countries that never had much gun ownership by average people with the USA is intellectually dishonest

It is not intellectually dishonest. It is reality. There is a marked difference in homicide rates, and that difference occurs for certain reasons. If we want to reduce our homicide rate, there are things we can do, if we value life enough, and we know this because proof points exist. For one to insinuate that there is no answer is to be like an ostrich, and stick ones head in the sand to avoid looking at the facts.

Sadly far too many of your countrymen value guns more than lives so nothing will ever be done no matter how many facts and figures you use :(

You mean the FACT that high gun ownership is NOT correlated to high murder rates? You realize that ACTUAL FACTS and non misrepresented figures actually support gun ownership?

Why do you constantly try to disarm Americans, when it is quite clearly not what is needed in our nation? We have a drug problem. Not a gun problem. And your nation? You demand we give up freedom for security.

That is pure denial plain and simple as any comparator with other developed nations shows

You realize that ACTUAL FACTS and non misrepresented figures actually support gun ownership?

I've shown from multiple sources on multiple threads that they don't

Why do you constantly try to disarm Americans, when it is quite clearly not what is needed in our nation? We have a drug problem. Not a gun problem. And your nation? You demand we give up freedom for security.

Most developed nations have a drug problem only the US is that problem eclipsed by your gun violence problem and so many of you actually seem to like that fact

Without guns to protect ourselves, more people will die. Look What the BLM terrorists are doing. Attacks in Texas, Georgia and Missouri.

More guns means more fear means even more guns and so the deadly spiral continues.......

Criminals will do bad things no matter what. Don't act like England is crime free.
