Deadly West, Texas, Fertilizer Plant Explosion Was 'Criminal Act': Feds

Didn't that happen a few days after Rick Perry held a press conference boasting about how business friendly Texas is because they don't have a lot of regulations? Or was that a different plant?

Did Perry's authority override OSHA regulations? I think not. Why make a BS statement like that?

How do you know??? For all we know this could easily be eco-terrorists (this is right up their alley).

Fanciful speculation.

It could just as easily been someone with a business or insurance dispute

No, I posted the video for additional background. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

There was a big debate in social media trashing TX/Perry, the plant owners, etc...
Ah, thanks for the clarification.

Note to self... do not stop to watch building burn when said building is full of fertilizer.

A lot of people don't realize that fertilizer and explosives have the same ingredients.

This was a FEDERAL investigation

And I distinctly remembering how the big government loving Leftists jump all over this.

Greetings, WCH. :2wave:

My neighbor uses chemical sprays on his lawn for dandelion control, and he wears a mask when he applies the liquid spray which is diluted with water. I can't imagine being downwind of an explosion like this with who knows how many raw, full potency chemicals have become airborne to affect breathing in both humans and animals! How horrible!

A lot of people don't realize that fertilizer and explosives have the same ingredients.

After the OKC bombing, you'd think they would, but you're right, they don't.

A lot of people don't realize that fertilizer and explosives have the same ingredients.

More precisely, one common fertilizer, ammonium nitrate, can be explosive or can be a main ingredient in some explosives.

That's not something they could have independently verified. It could very well have been accidental and the person responsible may not have even realized their mistake. It could have been negligence and no one is owning up to it. They're saying it was intentional. I say they'll never have enough evidence to indict anyone let alone convict.
After more than 400 interviews, a systematic fire-scene examination, the review of witness photos, videos and observations, as well as extensive scientific testing at the ATF Fire Research Lab in Beltsville, Maryland, the fire has been ruled “incendiary,” or intentionally set. All viable accidental and natural fire scenarios were hypothesized, tested, and eliminated. https://www.atf.gov/news/pr/atf-announces-50000-reward-west-texas-fatality-fire

I guess it boils down to whether or not you believe that the extent of the research cited by the ATF above is entirely pointless.

I once got in a minor fender bender cause I was rubbernecking watching a building burn... I blame my fascination with fires on unions.

You and Martian Manhunter.

Having the hydrant a mile away probably saved those two firemen.

I have to agree with Hawkeye, ruling out all accidental scenarios does not equal started on purpose.
