Trump, in reversal, says wealthy Americans should pay more taxes

Trump is a marketer whose views change based on who is the the room with him. In the next couple of months what you will see is Trump leaving behind all his hard core loyal supporters because he no longer HAS to be in the room with them. Sometimes sure, on the campaign trail, but he will have to talk to everyone else too. If he actually does win, he will do a complete 180 and change all his viewpoints because he will not have to deal with the poorly educated any longer. That's for sure, And I think that's going to be very hard for him to do. Many people think he will figure it out, but I don't think so.

WOW, then you are going to vote for him after all since he is your secret Democratic candidate? ;)

Yep. He said this from the very beginning and everyone who was paying attention knew it. But the Trump haters don't want information, they only want hatred.

If you look at his actual proposal, with specifics attached to it, it was a massive tax CUT for the wealthy. So we have a choice - believe the concrete proposal his campaign released or his mushy, general statements that appear on some days but not others to maybe contradict the actual proposal.

It's not a big deal - so Trump wants the wealthy to pay more taxes - the fact is that Trump's thinking is based in sound pro-business principles, because that's the result of his lifelong business experience. The guy has been in business from Day One, so he instinctively understands what's healthy for business.

really?!
his willingness to debase treasury bonds is found to be something helpful to American business. i don't think so

With the nomination all but sewn up, I think we will see trump start drifting center, more so after the convention.

Trump, like Warren Buffett, is free to cut an extra check to the USA anytime he wants.

He sounds more and more like the Democrat the non-clueless among us knew he always was.

I'm shocked literally shocked and dumbfounded to hear conservatives argue for higher taxes just because Trump is now the one doing it. Trump's converting you guys way too easily!

I concur

I'm not one to speak out against the occasional tax hike for the wealthy, and it's not at the top of my list, but I am amused with this as well.

When Barack Obama talking about raising taxes on the wealthy, the considered him to be the anti-Christ. When Trump talks about it, he's brilliant.

I've never seen such mind-numbingly lemming-like behavior in my lifetime.

Trump is not a conservative and I don't know many who claimed he was. He is a big government guy and if the term RINO ever applied to anyone, it is Trump.

Trump isn't a RINO he's a Democrat.

Well, conservatives need to realize that the only way they can "balance the budget" is higher taxes. Trump is preparing you guys! ;)

Well conservatives have been complaining about higher taxes ever since taxes were first raised so. This is hilarious to watch

Donald Trump stealing ideas from Bernie Sanders? Who would have thunk it? What has he supported or flip flopped on so far?

1) This - Rich people should pay more taxes.
2) Supports Planned Parenthood.
3) Supports food stamps and welfare.
4) Supports raising the minimum wage.
5) Yes, Trump wants to end Obamacare... However, he wants to replace it with the same kind of single payer health care that Bill Clinton attempted to roll out when he was president.

And the hits just keep on coming. There will be more. Expect him to stop talking about his wall very soon. That was just something he threw out there to get Republicans to vote for him. You just wait and see. Donald Trump may not be Conservative, but he is a marketer extraordinaire. Just call him the Pride of Madison Avenue.

Well, Republicans, there is the "Conservative" candidate you just nominated. You made the bed. Now it's time for you to lie in it.

And finally, Trump couldn't have gotten to where he is today without a whole party of gullible people to nominate him, and now he is coming out as Liberal on many issues. That's not his fault. That's YOUR fault for believing anything he said while running for the nomination. It's on YOU. Live with it.

Article is here.

Trump changed his mind about something? I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING.

Trump was a conseravative at lunch yesterday. Then he had coffee so he became a liberal, but after crossing a street and nearly slipping on a banana peel he became a left-of-center independent. This morning he ate a bagel so now he's a right-of-center tea party malthusian. What will he be three hours from now? Follow him on twitter and find out!

Indiana will no doubt go for Trump. If Trump picks Kasich as his running mate, he picks off Ohio. The others, however, are very problematic for him.

He could solidify his base by picking Jerry Springer.

Monster? No...moron. A flip-flopping, xenophobic, narcissistic moron.

He wants to put a 45% tariff on...that would spell economic disaster; which is why no POTUS in generations is for such an insane policy. It helps no one and severely hurts the poor (as it raises the price of almost everything AND/OR destroys employment).
He is talking about defaulting on debt. What kind of a complete moron talks about defaulting on U.S. bonds? The ENTIRE point of U.S. bonds is that they are supposed to be safe.
He did not even know what the nuclear triad was...THE most important aspect of being POTUS - which proves he is clueless.
He wants to ban Muslims entering America. How staggeringly xenophobic can you get?

Now he is starting to flip flop like mad. First he wants to lower taxes...now he is talking about raising them for the rich (which is okay - but goes to cred).
He says he daoes not know how people make it on $7.25 and then he later says he is against raising the federal minimum wage.
He has flip flopped on healthcare several times.

If you think you can count on him to put your precious 2'nd Amendment SCOTUS in - you are naive, imo.

Your boy has NO CHANCE in November, imo (unless Hilary gets convicted of a major crime)...NONE. Unless he changes something radically...he is going to get swamped and do tons of damage to the Republican Party in the process.

That tariff issue will have to play out. He will have to flip flop, or go back on his word after he wins, if he can.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoot–Hawley_ Was done when there were few trade agreements. In order for Trump to raise a 45% increase on anything, he will have to violate NAFTA, which carries extreme penalties far in excess of what he would collect.

45% will double the cost of almost every consumer product from smart phones to play station.

And, if thinks he can make automakers happy, the US-Auto trade pact is kind of welded in place. A tariff will merely double the price of car parts.

Then there is oil, Canada is the US largest supplier. Hit Canada with a tariff and Canada will retaliate with a "green tax" of about 20% to start on oil and gas, and 45% on electricity. All of these are illegal under NAFTA, but if he wants to kill NAFTA, watch how fast Canada says "OK"

He's like most bullies. He never stops to think that even though his opponent is smaller, that opponent can hit back with a lot of damage.

Just as the US has people who hate Canada, Canada has a greater percentage who would love to see some suffering. The memory of what Bush did to our forest industry, killing 10,000 jobs will not soon be forgotten.

I think the general attitude toward Trump is "bring it"!

No doubt, and not just in Canada. We'll have similar spats with allies and trading partners all around the world.

I am actually for a number of those points. My support for Trump in this election is based on two things.

1. He will put a pro-Second Amendment Justice on SCOTUS. My right of self-defense is the pillar of liberty in a free society.

Donald Trump on Gun Control

2. He is NOT the monster he has been painted by his enemies in the powers behind both the Democratic and Republican parties. The mere fact that they fear him so much they feel the need to devote so much time, effort, and money in character assassination makes him MY choice this time around.
He backed the ban on AR's and supported the idea of longer waiting periods to buy guns, believe he is pro 2nd A all you want, he is a Democrat and always has been, only someone unwilling to acknowledge the truth would support the donald.
