FBI Arrests Three Relatives of San Bernardino Shooter

The law, is the law. The law says that mercenaries and unlawful combatants are considered common criminals and can be subject to summary execution.

You're not a proponent of the law?

I am not a proponent of torture and summary execution, no.

I laughingly reject the idea that torture is acceptable as long as nobody has officially told you its wrong to torture that person.

If your justification for torture is "he didn't have a uniform I choose to recognize," then you're really digging deep.

Do you think these people consider themselves an illegitimate organization? Al-Qaeda? The Talbian? ISIS? Boko Haram? Do all of them say "well we're not really an army."

If he wasn't a prisoner of war, what was he? A criminal suspect? Where was the Due Process of law for that? Oh, wait. Unlawful combatant. So, if we get in a shooting war with Russia can we just declare it's unlawful combat and torture away?

You obviously have no idea what The Geneva Convention says. I suggest you read it, then get back with us.

Warning: you're going to be shocked, because it doesn't say what you think it says.

That's a personal choice, however your personal choices are not the law of the land.

If that's you're opinion, fine, but don't try to convict someone who hasn't broken the law.

He tortured someone and admitted to it. It's your personal choice to consider it acceptable.

That someone doesn't rate protection under international law.

Again, just because Deuce doesn't like it, doesn't make it a crime.

And who decides what counts as a legitimate army? The people doing the torturing? That's convenient.

So what do we do with those ISIL- AQ etc that are captured?

I say kill the on the battlefield. Don't take prisoners. It isn't like those animals can be reformed and I don't think we should pay to keep them in prrison for the rest of those lives.

Violates a number of Conventions and Laws of War.

Summary execution?
Yeah, pretty much. No one responsible for the protection of their country and innocent civilians is going to let a known terrorist go free. And there is no certainty that the terrorist would go to Gitmo. That narrows the options.

No need to, I am sure you know them better than I do.

Right, and as I've said, terrorists and other unlawful combatants aren't protected by The Geneva Convention.

United States laws governing the conduct of American troops in combat are in accordance with The Geneva Convention.
