Virginia governor enables 200,000 felons to vote in November

Personally I think people who have served their sentence should have the right to vote. *shrug*

Give them back their 2nd Amendment rights and we'll be batting a thousand.

Donald says the voting system is rigged, and I pretty much agree with him. Ron Paul just said the same thing last week. I think any disinterested observer might easily reach the same conclusion.

If it's true that voting is just a sort of pantomime and exercise in futility, why does it matter whether Virginia convicts participate in the charade?

Democrats pandering by scraping the bottom of tbe barrel? No ?!

There's a thread on this already and yes, the Democrats need all the help they can get.

With that said, no one should be under the illusion that if the majority of convicted felons supported the GOP, MCauliffe would'nt have bothered.

And according to the article, Kentucky, Iowa, Virginia, and Florida are the only states left that still ban felons from voting for life. Yeah, I'm sure that has nothing to do with politics.

No one should ever have their right to vote taken away. I don't care what crime you may have committed.

This has nothing to do with disinfranchised voters. If anything MCauliffe disnefrachised the voters who are going to vote for the GOP by cancelling out their vote with the vote from a Felon.

If this was about disenfrachised voters MCauliffe wouldn't have bothered. If Felons were likely to vote for the GOP, MCauliffe wouldn't have bothered.

This is about a Governor giving Felons a chance to cast a vote for Hillary. Thats it

Its typical Democrat low life tactics.

Unless that felon votes for a republican... then it's TRUE DEMORACY!!!!11!!!!1!!! You are so transparent.

If the average criminal was more likely to vote for the GOP rather than the Democrats, MCauliffe wouldn't have bothered.

The only people being disenfranchised are the hard working law abiding GOP voters who will now have their vote cancelled out by the vote of a felon

This is just typical low life left wing tacticts.

The Democrats only hope to win back the Senate and the House is to scrape the bottom of the barrell by giving felons the right to vote and bring in as many uneducated illegal aliens from as many Socialist, corrupt left wing Nations South of the border as possible

Democrats are desperate after 8 years of Obama and after the last Midterms

Yup, and Howell would fully endorse his disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands of citizens.

You want to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of citizens in order to make a GOP vote more powerful?

Keeping illegal immigrants from the polls is one thing; keeping citizens from the polls is unacceptable, regardless of their political leanings or prior history.

The question is not whether or not it is right or wrong but rather whether or not the governors actions are legal. Most states have these things called 'laws' and those laws are passed by their state governments and ratified by a governor. Executive orders cannot make illegal acts legal.

Ah, so the disenfranchisement of GOP votes can be defined by you as the ability of people potentially voting Democrat. I think your post right there has earned you a lifetime disqualification from lecturing anyone about democracy, anytime, anywhere.

That's such a lame argument. GOP voters without a felony have always had a vote. In no way are they being disenfranchised because a couple of hundred thousand citizens have suddenly gotten a vote.

In other words, The GOP vote is too powerful when hundreds of other citizens are actually disenfranchised.

Give them back their 2nd Amendment rights and we'll be batting a thousand.

Good luck convincing the GOP leadership and voters of this.

Only a conservative could ever come up with the notion that somebody else voting differently cancels your vote :lamo

While I, too, don't think Felons should have their voting rights taken away for life after they have served their sentences, to include probation/parole............. The timing of this is just awful.

The real truth of this will come when December hits, and this governor suddenly "forgets" to keep signing documents to restore more felons who just finished their sentences their right to vote.

Because when December comes.... it won't matter for him anymore.
