Pop music superstar Prince has died at his home in suburban Minneapolis

Put Prince getting started in today's industry, we'd probably never have heard of him. He'd be another one of my local scene friends.

I don't know-the only current stars I remotely know other than the two girls who run the October Project (not exactly in the Rolling Stones level of popularity) are-through their father-Bryce and Aaron Dessner and those are two men who really really studied their craft-including a masters in music theory from Yale, the other from Columbia. Prince's skills were off the chart. and his song writing not only perfect for his voice and his style but it worked for acts as diverse as the bangles and "the singing tennis ball" (Sinead)

It's not just the threads. It's all the media. They're obsessed with Prince's death...and I just don't know why.

Well, the mystery surrounding the "why" of how an icon suddenly died is always going to keep a story alive.

I suppose that's what it is. I just always assume it AIDS or a drug overdose but I guess the media have to investigate.

Until the autopsy report is released, all we have to go on are rumors. But, yeah. I agree, those are my two prime suspects, and evidence does point to both.

Aids: Underweight and in poor health.
Drugs: Opiates found in his possession at time of death.
