Cirque du soleil cancels all north carolina shows to protest hb2

If I need to pee in a convenience store and the Men's room is locked and the women's is not, I usually say to myself "plumbing is plumbing."

I try not to pee on the seat. Yeah, I lift it and then.....

.....I quickly and quietly put it back down.

They could arrest me for that in NC. NC stands for 'No Count"!

Since when is the boys room unoccupied and the girls room is not? Hah, that like never happens. :)

So to recap, if someone, say a privately owned bakery or private chapel, chooses to not get involved in a wedding of two individuals for any reason including protected religious beliefs, they can be taken to court and fined out of existence, but when a other businesses or performers choose to cancel performances already committed for, that action is acceptable and in general meets with a lot of peoples approval. Am I missing something?

Why isn't the federal department of something all over this?

Because apparently never agreeing to a transaction is worse then backing out of them. I was unaware of this, but apparently it's a thing a lot of people agree with. I always thought standing by your word was honorable, but apparently it's honorable to back out of your agreements. Who knew?

C'mon, have you not heard that some people aren't considered equal?

No really.

I've done that a few times at gas stations. At concerts and sporting events it's not unusual for some of the women to use the men's room stalls. I'm just getting even.

I've read Orwell. My problem is that while I understand that everybody is equal, I've just never been on the more equal side.

Do you do the same thing if it's not a single stall with a lock on the door?

Their prerogative. However, they are also hypocrites.

Equality...except those with whom we disagree. Right? If I don't care for a birth male (too lazy to type the longer version) in the ladies room, than I am less equal than the birth male in the ladies room.
Some people's perspective is worth more than others. Hypocrisy.

And, as I pointed out, they have no problem playing shows in countries where transgender and homosexuality are illegal.

This is nothing more than CDS trying to rally support for their failing shows in more liberal states like New York.

No, I wouldn't want to be surprised by a female patron.

It may have evolved from that little white lie we tell others to make them feel better.
"I am I fat?" " No honey, your 300 lbs look great on you"
Politeness, PC, whatever........

"Yes, Bob, you are a pretty little Asian girl with pigtails. Now don't forget to put the seat down because there are women here who need to pee."

Yes because LGBT people aren't human.

Bathroom usage isn't a human right.
The idea that somehow you have a right to someones labor or property is bogus, so no, anti-discrimination laws don't protect human rights either.

Yes because LGBT people aren't human.

Spare me your forced obliviousness. Peeing in the girls when you have boy bits isn't a "right".

No, I wouldn't want to be surprised by a female patron.

Because you recognize the difference in "plumbing", as you put it.

I guess I should thank you for that? What weird times we live.

No. I hate it when they start screaming "Police! There's a PERVERT!! in here.

Completely ruins my day.

The 'plumbing' is referring to the water closet (toilet). It's the same in both restrooms. Or, similar enough for me to take aim.

You have no right to take a dump?

I was not aware that a bathroom and a bodily function were somehow the same thing. Tell me, how did you come to such an amazing conclusion?

Gotta love the nonsense spewing from the right.

Gotta love the hand waving of the left when they don't have an actual argument.

I'll be anxiously awaiting their announcement of their scheduled presentations in Dubai in September. They just were there the last few years. Interesting that they apparently didn't know that it's illegal to be gay in Dubai.

Sorry, but while I respect everyone's right to boycott NC, it makes me ill that they are colossal hypocrites - and people aren't calling them out on it. I don't believe any gay person in NC would face jail time. Article 177 of the Penal Code of Dubai imposes imprisonment of up to 10 years on consensual sodomy. The most common depiction in the local media of LGBT people involves foreigners, disease, and sex crimes such as rape.

**** Cirque du Soleil and their hypocrisy.

Yes, I got your point. Just turning the language a bit to make a point.

Sure seems as if some people like expressing their opinion through laws but are not so much in favor of it when private businesses express theirs by not bringing their business to those they disagree with. And I thought conservatives believed in the right of a business to refuse service to whomever they wished, me thinks they believe those rights only belong to themselves, opps...........
