Russia jets make 'simulated attack' on US warship in 'aggressive' Baltic incident

Putins Propaganda Machine:

For those who did not get the memo that Russia and China are forming a team to counter the West, especially but not only in the region.

I sometimes worry if someday China, Russia, and Iran may just say "I wonder what the world would be like without the USA? Let's find out. We will take some hits, but they will be gone."

I'm looking at your signature and finding myself unable to believe you do not yet know of the Putin/Trump bromance.

They are feeling each other out, but for sure only Trump might be able to manage Putin.

We ain't got nobody else with the skill.

Heads up:

When you find yourself believing a CNN headline writer over Hawkeye10 you know you are in trouble, MKay?

.......I think I'm gonna stick with CNN, just to be on the safe side, MKay?

Flypasts happen, spy ships and all sorts of other silliness at sea but this flypast really seems to be pushing the boundaries.

U.S. says Russian planes buzzed Navy ship in Baltic Sea | CTV News

Really stupid acts here - similar to Russian planes flying without identifier beacons recently because of tensions in Ukraine.

We should accidentally shoot it down next time.

More information coming out and it does not exactly make the Americans look good either. They were close to one of the main Russian military bases in the Baltic..70 nautical miles. That is kinda aggressive as well, regardless of it being in international waters. Funny how the Americans bitch about other nations naval ships getting too close to its borders but it is no problem when the US does it..

International waters is, well, international waters.

Two Russian jets and more than one Russian helo were involved.

Much like Russian fighter jets turning their transponders off near civilian air corridors, this is an accident waiting to happen.

Just last week Moscow attributed a crash of its newest military helicopter in Syria to pilot error.

Russia might not be the same old Soviet Union, but they have enough power to take us down a hundred times over.

Their submarines are every bit as capable as ours, and that is what it will come down to if we ever screw with them.
So you are willing to pushed around, noted.

Uh huh. Because there's nothing like kicking off a massive war over something which has happened hundreds of times over the past fifty years to show the world that we're a bunch of morons.

As for the other matter.....
Sooo, let the Russians do whatever they want, hey why not let them sink a ship or two if it will keep us out of a fight, bullies must love you.

Big woop. I saw maverick do the same thing. Caused brass to spill their coffee and everything

This was ordered by Putin, the second most dangerous man in the world with Trump being the number one lunatic. If Trump wins I can't imagine how many press secretaries he will have in the first month as his deplorable mouth will get him impeached as soon as he arrive s in the White House.

I love how much you hate Trump that you put him in front of the millions of people who are evil and have actual power. Trump has none.

Ok, there's so much wrong with this I don't even know where to start.

The Russian buzz our ships all the time. We do the exact same thing to their ships. All the time. This is nothing out of the ordinary.

It's posturing. Everybody knows that there's a chance of exactly zero that the Russians are actually going to try to sink our ships.

There's exactly zero point in starting a war over it.

We do not get anywhere near to their ships as they do ours, nice try.

Not just talking about flybys, did you miss what happened in the Crimea? Did you miss what is happening in the Ukraine? Do you ignore the fact that Russia has been building their military up dramatically, yet there is no threat to their security? Have you missed the fact that more and more Russian troops are being amassed along the borders of once Warsaw Pact Nations? You can keep on whistling as if nothing is happening just do not be surprised when Putin does what does.

I think Putin is really looking forward to working with this guy....

And how do you know that? Blind belief that the US doesn't do anything like the evul Russkies?

Back during the Cold War, this was pretty much an everyday occurrence. Nobody got too worked up about it.

"No threat to their security"

See, that's the problem. Your trying to look at this from an American perspective. And that's just not going to work.

Above all else, Russians, traditionally, have valued strength and respect. Hundreds of years under the Tzar, then sixty years under the communist party, and Russia was always a major player.

Then, after the fall of the USSR, Russia was considered a joke. They couldn't protect their ally the Serbs from NATO. They couldn't stop the EU from expanding westward. They were frustrated.

Putin promises a return to the glory days where Russia had to be taken seriously, and the public responds to that.

Not even to mention the institutional paranoia that still exists in the country. Operation Barbarossa devastated Russia. The policy of never again is still in existence. Russians see NATO and the EU expanding towards Russia, and they get nervous. The whole point of the Warsaw Pact, after all, was a buffer to keep the fighting away from Russian soil.

I don't see you volunteering to go fight on the front lines of this war you seem to be itching for, however.

The thing is it isn't really a "simulated attack".

Russians are known for their stand off anti shipping missiles.

A simulated attack would likely be trying to close undetected to a lauch point no where near the ships.

The Cook is more than capable of defending itself from two SU-24's. Sure, the fly by was provocative, and so is the presence of the Cook so close to a Russian naval base. Note that the Cook was also in the Black Sea several times. This is a screw you to Putin, and his SU-24's are no match for the Cook even with their most advanced jamming systems on board the SU's, and the Russians know it.

Do many excuses and delusional thinking, at least you admit we are back in a cold war.
Pssst, I did Join the United States Army and served my Nation in Combat, me thinks you did nothing of the sort, Buckaroo.
