I don't have no fancy law degree, but I'm fairly certain blowing up people with a suicide vest counts as a felony of some kind. The people in this story were released because there was no crime committed. So, apparently the only thing making this story noteworthy is a turban. Oh, and "Allah Akbar stuff."

You've either never hunted, have forgotten that you try to keep things quiet when you're hunting or are being intentionally obtuse. Intelligent hunters don't fire their weapons until it's absolutely necessary. If they're practicing, they're doing it at range of some sort, never in the woods. The whole idea is to keep the game settled down as much as possible. The more spooked they are, the harder they are to hunt. So these guys being hunters is about as a stupid a conclusion as you possibly come to. Now a bunch of drunken dipsticks with guns out in the woods might carry on like this, but these are apparently Muslims, who don't drink. So now we have a bunch of guys out in the woods screaming and yelling and firing weapons. Criminal?? No. Cause for LE to take a long hard look at them and even put them under some measure of surveillance?? ABSOLUTELY!!!

Just a small observation: Saying that Muslims don't drink is like saying Jews don't eat bacon.

Which points to my theory about how to attain peace in the ME - GIVE 'EM BACON!!! Once they get a taste of that, they'll start spending their time split between smoking bacon and finding new things to cook with bacon, leaving them no time kill each other and encouraging them to work together when their smoker is full, but they've got three more bellies coming out the brine today.

And definitely give 'em alcohol. Given the choice between a fundamentalist Jew and a fundamentalist Muslim, I'll hang out with the Jew any day of the week. At least the Jew will drink and there's the possibility he'll chill out a little.

But anyway, back on point. You go out to the boonies in Southern California and people definitely drink (and do meth) and fire off zillions of rounds of ammo. Shooting rocks, shooting nitrous tanks, shooting bottles. Broken bottles, nitrous tanks and shells just everywhere.

And I'm not Inspector Clouseau, but a band of Middle Easterners firing off hundreds of rounds in the middle of the night yelling "Allah Akbar!" might be worth paying attention to.

They didn't shout "Allah Akbar." They shouted "Allah Akbar stuff." Messieur Unidentified Officer may not be the most qualified individual for determining who the people were or what they were yelling. If they were yelling anything at all.

Anyway, they were released for lack of evidence that any crime had been committed. As you are a conservative I'm a little surprised you're not more supportive of these men exercising their 2nd amendment rights.

The dubious reporting of this story has me skeptical of the claim that they were even wearing turbans.

You're thinking of someone else -- I never said they were hunters. I grew up in the backwoods as a kid and during hunting season you would hear...one...shot. Not several hundred as though the deer and the hunters had each other pinned down and were firing M16A4 assault rifles at each other.
