Pakistan explosion death toll rises to 63

There will always be any number of beliefs in this world, whether religious or political or whatever. If we are to survive we have to learn to live together and accept differences of opinion.. That seems a difficult proposition for many Muslims at the moment.

I don't give a **** what nationality are killed...I just care that 63 people were killed.

If 63 people from my country are killed, it should mean absolutely nothing more to me then if 63 people from ____________ were killed.

All people are equal.

The country has been ambivalent on terror with its security elites sometimes supporting Taliban forces. It has been clear that the chickens would come home to roost for at least 15 years.

The Pakistani Army and informal militias have been fighting Islamists for over a decade, it amazes me that people literally fighting a war against each other are accused of tacit concent.

The world would be barren without the great universities or cathedrals of Europe, the artwork of Da Vinci, Rubens, Rafael, or Michelangelo, the fugues of Bach or the choral music of Handel, the Ikuta Shrine of Kobe, the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, the Meiji Shrine in Tokyo, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar, the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi mosque in Medina.... Need I go on?

I wonder how many Pakistanis care that a large number of Christians were killed and maimed. I guess rather few, and those outnumbered by those who think it great.

You don't care who the killers were , or their motives? That's often the first thing people look for in criminal cases.

All people may be equal in your eyes but obviously there are others who don't share your opinion.

I am a modern secularist muslim who lives in Turkey,not in arabia.

I agree with the concept that all people are equal but it's clear that many Muslims don't feel the same way. My personal belief might be boiled down to the Christian Golden Rule of Treating others as you would want them to treat you. Sadly, Muslims have never been taught this idea, or have chosen to ignore it.

No, never. I've never followed any religion closely but am aware that Christian teachings have certainly benefited the western world.

It's difficult to believe that any reasonably educated person would ask that question, or even raise the possibility.

many Qoranic verses advise you to avoid gossip and arrogance and treat teh others equallly.yes even christians and jews as long as they dont force you to get out of your own homeland

Perhaps there are parts of the Koran which makes sense but the truth is that it has spread poverty, ignorance and violence wherever it's been introduced and it continues today.

Muslim dominated countries always lag well behind non-islamic countries on any positive human rights issues. That's just an unavoidable fact. If you want to be a truly free human being you might want to give this whole Islam thing a second look.

I am already free unlike sunni islamists or arabians,I take this book as a guide as mentioned in Qoran and interpret it from a deistic perspective,that is why I dont dislike other people or other religions.the fact of Jesus was pacifism and a more spritiual figure based on miracles ,but islam is more realistic ,christianity is more universal but islam is more reasonable one among the other abrahamic beliefs.take anything you like from those teachings.different stories ,different time periods,different struggless between tribes ,nations and historical figures,books differ from each other in the way they present different socio economical facts of the societies they arose in.
european witch hunts can be forgotten ? Europe got rid of the influence of the church on the society,that is why they are not drowning in their muds but they are just democrats for themselves this time.

Really? Then how do you explain the jizya, the poll tax whose purpose is to impress upon Jews and Christians who are allowed to live in Muslim areas that they are an inferior, pariah class? I'd be glad to provide a link to the part of Reliance of the Traveler which discusses that. As you probably know, that is the 14th-century text which the world's leading Islamic theologians endorse as the official statement of shari'ah, the set of rules for living which devout Muslims are to abide by. As I recall, the part of Reliance of the Traveler that addresses the jizya cites a passage from the Quran about its demeaning purpose.

By the way, I consider Palestine the Jews' homeland. They had been living there for many centuries by the time Mohammed came along.

Certainly the witch hunts can be forgotten, as they should. People should look forward, learn from the past but not surround themselves with it.

Yes, Europe has largely ignored their Christian roots, the Churches are disappearing, and now their cultures are floundering, with no one knowing quite what they stand for. They are now prepared to believe in anything, so long as it isn't Christianity.

Nonetheless, as an observer in all of this, I can't see much good in Islam whatsoever, though I can see it easily in the teachings of Jesus Christ. It seems that when Muslims behave badly, as is their habit, they are always the victim. As a free man I would not be part of any victim class, or adhere to rules provided by 'prophets' from some centuries ago. I could get better advice from any self help section in Chapters.
