Trump protester sucker-punched by supporter in brutal video of Tucson rally

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...mp-supporter-in-brutal-video-of-tucson-rally/

Less than two weeks ago, widely shared videos showing a white Donald Trump supporter sucker-punching a black Trump protester at a Trump rally in Fayetteville, N.C., became a key example of growing violence at the Republican front-runner’s campaign events. The video told a story, some said, not just about one candidate’s angry supporters but about the ugly spectacle of American racial violence in the 21st century.

I wonder who incited this violence? I'm curious as to your opinion. Now this Airman is in a world of trouble, and has jeopardized his military career, will be rightfully prosecuted, and most likely an article 15.... That said. what incited this guy to punch the protester?

the same person that incited violence at the other 20 or so cases of violence at trump rallies

Why do you think theres no violence at anyone elses rally?

Nothing in this instance. It's a sad case. The protester was getting escorted out and then the guy just beat the crap out of the protester. I'll leave it at that...

Could have had something to do with the protesters wearing Klan hats.

I'm going to guess that it's a combination of pre-existing anger issues and social motivations in the form of peer pressure.

Very likely he was unaware that Trump reversed his position on paying the legal bills of supporters who assaulted protesters.

It must be tough being a Trump supporter, having no idea what he is going to believe from day to day. I'm not thrilled about the prospect of voting for Clinton, but there's some small comfort in knowing that if she believes something today, there's a better than middling possibility she'll believe it tomorrow.

Who would that be.?

Simple, apparently trump supporters believe in freedom of speech moreso than bernie supporters.

Trump can contradict himself in the same day and his followers will believe both opinions.

Well, none of your guesses have been shown to be accurate before, so you're most likely wrong. Probably had something to do with fighting words and the fact these asshole protestors were harping on the entire audience the entire event.

What do you think of the guy wearing a klan hood/mask? could that have been an inciting factor?

I know these back-and-forth stories of protesters and supporters attacking each other can get confusing fast, but I'm pretty sure the OP deals with a supporter punching a protester.

Why do you people believe that about hillary? she's flip flopped on issues just as much, and she's a known liar.... she's not that much different other than actually being a bank owned ruling class elitist.

Guy asked a question about why are there no protestors at bernie rallies, I surmised that perhaps it was because trump supporters believe people have a right to hear others speak without having a mob shout them down and disrupt them at a private event....

Last month, Trump pledged to pay the legal bills for supporters who "knocked the crap" out of anyone who was considering throwing tomatoes at the former reality-television star.

"If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them," Trump said. "Just knock the hell — I promise you, I'll pay the legal fees."

If by "Freedom of speech," you mean "freedom to punch someone in the face," then yea.

Just as much? Hardly. When one wants to list the lies of Hillary, they'll pull up the Bosnian story here, the Trump/Isis recruitment story there, basically they'll have to space out the lies and position changes over the course of years or months. When one wants to list the lies and position changes of Trump, one need only follow him for a couple weeks.

You miss the point.... people like trump have a right to speak, their supporters have a right to hear him. In a private settings, these protesters, are violating the civil rights of others. trump supporters are not going to other peoples rallies and disrupting them.

The level of cognitive dissonance necessary to reach the conclusion that Trump supporters are allowing protesters to speak their mind - while simultaneously ignoring the dozens of instances of protesters being attacked or evicted before they say anything - is really quite astounding Rev HH.

Unless the white protester attacked the black man who did the violence, the attacker deserves to be prosecuted and punished to the full extent of the law, Nobody who claims to support law and order and decry violence can take any other position and be consistent.

This is a growing problem at Trump rallies and is only going to get worse - I fear far far worse as time moves on over the next eight months unless a very strong message is sent to Trump and in turn his supporters that just because you don't like people exercising their rights does NOT mean you can physically attack and beat them.

So...... he says "if you see someone about to commit a crime of assault, defend others by knocking the crap out of him" incited this guy who happens to be black, from punching a guy who was wearing a KKK hood.....

hmmmmmm.......

As I said, maybe the supporter simply didn't get the memo that Trump reversed his position. I admit it can be difficult keeping up with Trump's beliefs. I'm sure in the last week he's probably reversed opinion on one issue multiple times and I'd never know it.
