Death Threat Against Trump's Children

You're 100% correct. I started a thread yesterday about this very topic in the Media Bias forum.

Not only do I believe it to be a form of bias, I believe it to be outright manipulation. Manipulating stupid people may not be a difficult thing to do but that doesn't make it right. This Trump fish should have been filleted a long time ago but wasn't. Deliberately. Once he secures the nomination all hell is going to break loose.

I think we can all agree its wrong but how can it be stopped?

I heard what he said, when he said it, unabridged and unedited by the media. I am not advocating that everyone must agree with what he said, but if you cannot even be honest about it, then there is no point in furthering the conversation.

Why don't you go ahead and quote Trump? And then, go ahead and supply the brackets to that quote so you can neuter it away into something that does not automatically qualify as a war crime.

Trump's son Eric and his wife received a letter in the mail that had mysterious white powder, and threatened their lives if Trump didn't drop out of the race. The letter was postmarked from Boston, MA, and is under investigation by NYPD and Secret Service.

Threatening letter sent to Donald Trump son Eric Trump - CBS News

So before the usual morons claim that it's a publicity stunt staged by Trump to gain sympathy, I'd ask why Trump would target his family and elevate the threat to them in the form of copycat attacks, etc, when he could have just targeted himself and kept them out of it? I don't believe a man would willingly endanger his own family. And we've seen the lengths to which Trump's opponents will go to thwart his candidacy, whether in showing up to violently disrupt his rallies, or even in going to the extent of charging his podium.

I think that the Trump-haters need to look in the mirror and introspect on what their extreme venom at Trump is leading them towards. The intense demonization of Trump will only embolden extremists to take their aggression out on Trump and his family.

He does attract many with anger issues. Your default seems to blame everyone who is not for Trump, 1st by labeling all as Trump haters, your agenda is?
Now this act was committed in all probability by 1 person. Same type that is attracted to trump, not all, but a fair number.
Now who is going to say Trump planned this?

What was it McCain said about Trump?

I'm saying if you compare someone to Hilter(who was a leftist by the way. nobody ever brings that up) then of course some lunatic is going to think "I'll do everyone a favor and get rid of Hitler".

does this really have to be explained to you?

He's being demonized for all the right reasons.

Every major candidate has death threats.

Chug on I say, he is the fascist candidate, Hitler comparisons are too much, but the man, and those who support him, haven't been demonized enough.

Edit: I would say no one should ever recieve death threats. But it's a reality for most candidates and their families. Obama and his family recieve threats constantly.

As one member noted the other day- no need for a big 1/2 billion fund to campaign if he wins the nomination, he makes news wherever he goes. He did not say for it was for the wrong reasons.

In this day and age, very little surprises me anymore. My hope is modern forensics will link the envelope to it's originator, and the truth, whatever it is, will be exposed.

Gee, what a surprise!

Not to put too fine a point on it, nor in any way excuse this disgusting act, but that's what happens when a polarizing personality deliberately polarizes the debate. This is a country, after all, of people who issued death threats over a pizza at a wedding.

EXCEPT....

Eric Trump isn't saying divisive things during the campaign. This might be the grossest justification for sending death threats to an American citizen to date.

People make death threats for all sorts of reasons, some of them really stretch into the totally lost it crowd.

You aren't going to fix an ant hill by kicking it over.

We know we are not going to fix it by doing what we have been doing, and if what you are doing is not working then do something else, anything else. Sending Trump may not work, but it sends a message and next time we will get better reformers asking for the job, I have no doubt.

Electing an outsider won't fix Washington. Congress and the courts will neuter him.

Hillary will beat him badly, and Republicans will lose massive ground in Congress in the process.

I am not an R and I think that both parties should be killed so I dont have a problem with R's being beaten for Congress should it happen. That said I dont have any reason to think that it will happen. Maybe if they dont get behind Trump it does, R's tend to punish disloyalty, that is the reason for Trump in the first place, that the R elite are traitors to the R base and to the nation.

Treason must be made to carry a cost to discourage the practice, no matter the short term consequences. We need to play long ball here, for our kids sakes.

Well, neither has a chance in the world unless Hillary is indicted by Loretta Lynch. What are the odds of that?
I got behind Trump rather than Sanders because he is a life long failed politician so I never thought he had a chance, though he did do somewhat better than I expected.

Trump? I put his chances at the R nomination at 95%, the POTUS chair 75%. The only serious threat to trump is if Hillary drops out and they give the nomination to someone like Sanders/Warren...in that case Trump probably loses. I think is very unlikely that Hillary beats Trump no matter who she picks for VP.

Might be sad, but it will only get worse once Trump wins the nomination. All the crazies will come out.

WHAT?

You must be kiddin'

The crazies have been with us in numbers large for the past 8 years........

Tell us..............you never noticed them!:lamo

A real problem for Trump is that Obama has never given a damn about good government, the Secret Service has been declining in the quality of their work for years.

That's special.

Oh come on...I guarantee you every candidate's children has gotten TONS of death threats.

That is just the price you pay for being a large figure in national politics.

I am not saying it is not unfortunate (it is). But anyone that is genuinely surprised by this is awfully naive, imo.

It looks like we have ourselves one of them uniformed voters.

I don't wear a uniform.

Are you claiming that any decline in the Secret Service's performance is somehow Obama's fault? If so, please cite how.

The buck stops at the President's desk, yes sir.

.
You think Gilmore and Pataki's children were being given "drop out of the race or else" types of death threats?

The buck stops at the President's desk, yes sir.

I bet you blame Obama when your mail arrives late, what with the post office being a federal agency and all.

I don't think anyone knew Gilmore or Pataki were running.

I blame Obama for making no effort to put the Post Office on some business model that is sustainable. If you want a great insight into how screwed up Washington is there is no better place to look than the Post Office, and I am not talking about just Obama, it is everyone, over decades. They lost $5 billion last year, and that does not include about $5 billion in pension payments that they should have made but did not.

No, uninformed voters are known colloquially as Trump supporters.

peddling falsehoods that you are spoon fed to you by those who claim to be your betters reflects poorly on you.

You might consider doing something else.
