Venezuela to Shut Down for a Week to Cope With Electricity Crisis

The reason for that is simple...ILLEGAL ALIENS. They change the whole equation.
Um, not in Texas's favor. CA has nearly double the level, yet has lower child poverty rates.

California's population is higher but, their presence still affects the equation when figuring childhood poverty levels.

I'll accept yer topic change as a loss of point.

Thanks.

If a govt is collecting more in revenue than it is spending, it is hurting it's state economy. You aren't serious going to go with household economics theory....are you?

You aren't seriously going to go with Keynesian economics are you ?

And when did Texas's economy ever become a Household economy ?

I'll type this s.l.o.w.e.r.....CA has nearly double the population....of "illegals"....yet maintains lower child poverty that TX.

Venezuela can't be compared to the United States. Venezuela suffers from resource shortages,

Are you insane? It is the largest oil producer in South America.

No Texas has 12,000,000 less people and the PERCENTAGE of ALL children who live in poverty are less than 2% difference.

California has the highest child poverty rate in the Nation
The usual BS.

Your cite states 22.7%, in 2014 it was 23%.....and Texas was at 25%

I have no idea wtf yer trying to say, yer conflating nominal with percent while abandoning yer previous point about the number of aliens.

Math is hurr durr.

Are you insane? It is the largest oil producer in South America.

And how much is oil worth now? It suffers from resource shortages because of government mismanagement.

I said illegal aliens change the equation not how many there were. [putting states with lots of illegal in the higher poverty rates]

Maybe you should read slower.

Yer not showing any equations, yer math is worse that yer ability to post complete thoughts.

CA has lower child poverty rates than TX, in spite of the fact that it has nearly twice the level of aliens than TX. Alien children are included in the counts of children living in poverty FOR BOTH STATES.

Fer gawds sake, say whatever yer trying to say clearly, you have yet to do so.

How 'bout you just be an illegal alien apologist elsewhere. Dick

showing lower child poverty rates.....is being an "apologist".

What the frack.

If this is an argument that higher cost of living areas should receive higher federal supplement levels (SNAP, EITC, TANF), fine. That would change the ratio of tax dollars contributed by CA from very positive...to less so.

Actually California legislators are mulling over a proposal that would increase taxes on properties with a value of 3 Million dollars or more. Apparently Cali has a considerable poverty problem.

Who would have guessed, right ?

So Mr money bags sitting in his 3 milion home would see a property tax hike. No problem, he can afford it, right ?

Well the problem is the tax increase would apply to Commercial prosperties too

California just can't learn from its mistakes. It's a way to address the substantial poverty issue by creating more poverty.

. Driving away investment dollars and businesses means less job opportunities in a State thats already lost thousands of Businesses due to progressive policies just like this one.

Progessives never learn.

They have more than oil.

They're problem is their Govt is awash with Socialist.

The Central planners mismanaged their wealth creating industries into the ground while Chavez and Madruro passed laws that outlawed outsourcing and that made firing unproductive workers nearly impossible

I bring up federal taxes/spending to make up for NATIONAL col disparities, you respond with state property taxes...for state funding. Yer such a waste of time.

And this is Bernie Sanders' sales pitch?

I tend to stick to relevant issues, not left wing talking points.

California contributes more, Texas takes more...blah blah blah.

California is home to 1/3 of our Nations welfare recipients.....
Mish's Global Economic Trend Analysis: California has 12% of US Population, 33% of Welfare Recipients; Texas is Best State to Do Business; California, Illinois, and New York the Worst; Where Does Your State Rank?

And still owes the FEDs 8 Billion dollars for a " loan " they took out to pay unemployment benefits.
California still owes feds $8 billion for unemployment insurance | The Sacramento Bee

So according to you they contribute more revenues but had to borrow 8 Billion dollars to pay unemployment benefits. Texas has multi-billion dollar surplus. I guess California could have asked Texas for a loan but then again, never lend a bankrupt progressive State money unless you have no intention of ever getting paid back.

The hitch in the Progressive plan to redistribute via making the Rich " pay their fair share " is that the " Rich " ( investors, corporations and the wealthy ) dont have to play along. They and their wealth are mobile. Forcing wealth out of your State and or Country doesn't fix disparity, on the contrary, it's increases disparity.

And this is Bernie Sanders' sales pitch?

Lol.....

Yup. Sanders plan to grow a economy that he doesn't comprehend is " Stimulus to increase aggregate demand " ( massive new debt ) while simultaneously driving away new private sector investment ( jobs ) by increasing taxes on the wealthy, Corporations and investors.

On top of that he wants to empower the Unions and push a anti-AGW agenda that will lead finally kill off whats left of our Coal industry and lead to higher energy cost for the consumer. And people still support that lunatic.

Only you can explain the relevance of bringing up in state taxes....to a discussion on poverty differences between states....in a thread on Venezuela.

California contributes more, Texas takes more...blah blah blah.
Like I said, yer a waste of time.

Oh goody, a 4 year old article, which doesn't break down "welfare", which was more than likely driven by UI and SNAP....due to the article being written at the peak of such expenditures.

And still owes the FEDs 8 Billion dollars for a " loan " they took out to pay unemployment benefits.

And....fenton confirms what I just said....ffs.

Let me get this, the fact of CA being a long time contributor....is countered by the need for a loan during a depression? Once again yer confusing federal tax....with state tax.

I could once again follow yer trip down yer latest rabbit hole, and remind you of the massive tax avoidance that businesses has utilized in CA since 1978 as a result of loopholes in prop 13 commercial property tax, but it would be pointless .

Remind me, what the hell does this have to do with Venezuela?
