Trump protester sucker-punched at North Carolina rally, videos show [W:108]

Re: Man charged wThe protester, identified byith sucker-punching protester at Trump r

A black protester being escorted out of a Donald Trump campaign rally Wednesday in Fayetteville, North Carolina, was sucker-punched and shoved by a Trump supporter, several videos on social media show.
The protester, identified by The Washington Post as Rakeem Jones, 26, was being walked by sheriff’s officers up an aisle at the Crown Coliseum, amid loud boos from the crowd, when a white man in a cowboy hat stepped toward Jones, punched him in the face and shoved him off-balance.
But Thursday, WRAL, the local NBC television affiliate, reported that a 78-year-old man — John McGraw of Linden, North Carolina — had been charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct. The station cited the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Later in the Fayetteville rally Wednesday, when another in a series of demonstrators was being led out, Trump himself lamented what he called “the good old days” when someone who acted up would be carried out “on a stretcher.”
Meh. These protestors were making a spectacle of themselves. Have any of them even articulated what they're protesting? It looks like this is only about making a scene.

and even a stupid statement like that won't lose him enough votes to matter.

Very important stuff. Glad they noted he was wearing a cowboy hat, lest the readers think it was just anyone. Obviously acting on secret orders from Trump, but he couldn't fool this reporter.

Assault is never the right thing to do. It's a crime. But as for the protester, no sympathy from me. When you go looking for trouble, don't be surprised if you find it.

Protesting particular events that are funded by certain people is not an open invitation to just anyone. Everyone knows that. I have no sympathy for anyone who protests at any campaign event, no matter who the politician is. When someone protests at such an event, it is trying to stop others from exercising their rights to hear the speak, and interfere with the speaker's right to free speech.

Oh it isn't to stop anything, no political rally has ever been halted by protests. Protesters have the Right to do so, and be escorted out. But when some butt thinks he can attack someone he doesn't agree with... that violates the protester's rights.

What ever happened to your right ends at my nose??? Apparently for the Trumpers it ends a bit further in than that... though i doubt that is considered reciprocal... :peace

That is nonsense, protesting is never an excuse for being violently attacked by some idiot with anger management issues.

He did not go looking for being attacked, he may have been looking to protest but that is not an invitation to violence and to even suggest that is a bit silly IMHO.

And it may not be an open invitation, but there is still the freedom of speech, Trump may have the right to throw them out but there is no justification for Trump, his staff, the security guards or the people at the rally to violently assault a protester (if that protester does not himself use violence and people are just defending themselves).

Re: Trump protester sucker-punched at North Carolina rally, videos show

Five Pinocchios for that one. From your own link:

"John McGraw, 78, was charged with assault and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sean Swain told The Post on Thursday."

Look at the time now posted with the article, then look at the time I posted the OP.

Re: Trump protester sucker-punched at North Carolina rally, videos show

This is probably like that bs story about white supremacists shooting into a crowd of blacks at a BLM event. More bullcrap invented by the media.

"bullcrap invented by the media" You must be right, we all know that Lame Stream Media is little more than a propaganda machine

Check out the videos, not one - several, which show how the media is lying to Real Americans

Re: Trump protester sucker-punched at North Carolina rally, videos show

Perhaps. But using a sucker punch is a sign of cowardice.

Its what the angry Drumph hillbillies do.

Evidently violent thugs are OK when you agree with them.

Re: Man charged wThe protester, identified byith sucker-punching protester at Trump r

This is a bit of a tangent but if you look at the recent protestors, they're literally not even protesting anything. And they're making a spectacle and laughing it up as they leave. Regardless of Code Pink's silliness at least they stood for something. These Trump Rally protestors are just attention whores.

How so, did he threaten anyone?

Jones told INSIDE EDITION on Thursday morning that his left eye still hurts from the punch and he remains confused about why he was being taken out by security in the first place.
Well we can discern that Jones is quite possibly retarded and unable so mentally deficient that it might be best that he not be allowed outside without a caregiver escort. If he's really so handicapped that he doesn't know why he was taken out by security while protesting.

Maybe you should try reading some of the articles in regards to what took place. Mr Jones wasn't protesting, he was standing next to a friend who was speaking loudly. No one has reported that he said anything before he was told to leave but he is a black guy with dreadlocks so he was obviously in the wrong place.

The if he was handicapped, you approve of sucker punching them?? Or just beating the crap out of them? Or as stated by the punk who sucker punched him, may have to kill him as noted in the link below

I think this cracker is the perfect candidate to join the Crips. They would have lotsa fun jumping him in..... Blood in..... Lotsa blood out. LOL.

Re: Man charged wThe protester, identified byith sucker-punching protester at Trump r

That there was a yahoo at a Trump rally that assaulted a protester is neither surprising nor particularly alarming. That Trump supported the assault is alarming, but not particularly surprising. That's just how the demagogue Trump rolls.

And so I said. It's a crime. But when you go in someone's face and try to interfere with their right to hear a speaker, or interfere with a right to give a speech, and you're interfering and vocal and loud...you KNOW when you do that, you're inviting trouble. He got it. He knew he was going to get it, of course. That's why he did it...so he'd be on the news.

Re: Man charged wThe protester, identified byith sucker-punching protester at Trump r

The cameras were rolling, someone was giving a speech, so the guy showed up loud and hostile. Ba-da-bing. Mission Accomplished. He's on the news. No sympathy from me, no matter who the protester or who the speaker was. Interfering with someone's right to give a speech and others to hear it while being loud and obnoxious and hostile, is asking for trouble. So he got it. Which was the plan.

Just like the people who believe they were escorted out of a Trump rally. It wasn't because they were protesting though, it was because they were Black. Yes I know.

How do you figure a protester has the right to cause problems in a private event?

Re: Man charged wThe protester, identified byith sucker-punching protester at Trump r

The sucker-puncher is also on tape threatening to "kill" this protester next time.

He was being escorted out. An asshole stepped up and smacked him one. That's against the law.
Is this a problem for you? Do you think the guy who hit him was justified and within his rights?

I disagree with the premise that people have a right to be disruptive at a private event. Where did I say anything other wise or are you just cranky tonight and want to add words or intent that I didn't express?

I disagreed the the portion I highlighted:
Protesters have the Right to do so, and be escorted out.

Yeah, I am. There's a lot of blaming the victim here. Protest at political rallies is gonna happen- in fact, when it stops happening it's time to worry. But things can devolve quickly after the first violent move.
