This is being reported on TV right now, but no printed link to give yet. I will post one as soon as one comes up online. Sorry for the thread title not matching the link, but the link just came up and there was no link to use in the title at the time...

EDIT: first link to come up that I can find: Nancy Reagan, widow of Ronald Reagan, dead at 94

EDIT 2: CNN just brought up the story: Nancy Reagan dead at 94

my local news just broke this a few minutes ago and now they interrupted the normal newscast to do a story on this (Channel 12, Cincinnati, CBS)

CNN has confirmed the story.

That's sad. She lived a full life and truly became the Republican Party's matriarch--the Eleanor Roosevelt of the Republican Party. I am sure her husband could have appreciated the comparison.

She came off as a sweet lady. I liked her.

I have made no secret here of my fondness for Nancy Reagan. I am saddened immensely by this. RIP good lady.

the R.I.P. thread designation prevents me from voicing my stringent objection to your comparison

One needn't believe that they fought for the same causes and because of that became influential within their husband's administrations, but that they fought for some and became revered by the entire party for their contributions.

Nevertheless, I do uphold Nancy's attention toward substance abuse.

She was loyal. We could have done without her war on drugs however.

She lived a long and full life to age 94. RIP

I thought her "Just Say No" campaign was honorable but fairly unsuccessful.

All of the First Wives seem to have had commendable agenda's. Laura Bush was education and literacy and Michelle Obama's was fitness and nutrition. Those are all admirable goals to aim for.

Nancy was a very classy lady.
RIP :(
