Supreme Court puts hold on Louisiana abortion clinic law

Thank you for that article. I had not read it before. If you look at the second post in this thread, I stated that in this instance, it appeared to me to be an Equal Protection argument winning the day - as they say in the article that Justice Ginsberg seems to believe as well. Roe was a Right to Privacy ruling, but I believe the new cases will be ruled upon based on Equal Protection under the law.

In particular with Texas & Louisiana laws as they attempt to prevent / impair a women’s right to an abortion.
Time to settle this issue, and yes I believe it should have been based upon equal protection

But if Scalia were still alive it could've been 5-4 in the conservatives favor because Kennedy only voted to put enforcement of the law on hold for review. If the court didn't have time to review the case then perhaps that's an indication that the court is starting to fall behind in it's workload without a ninth judge. Or perhaps the court wants to wait until after a ninth judge gets appointed. Or maybe neither and the court will make a decision next week. Either way, I think the female judges have say over this one.

turns out that this decision was 7-1.
