Murdoch: GOP 'would be mad' not to unify around Trump if he's nominee

I'd be happy to see Sanders in the White House.

He's only 74-years old. He could serve 2 terms and retire at 83.

You would vote for a man who didn't earn a paycheck in his life until the age of 40, and dreams of a socialist America?

Not hardly.

Are you crazy? When was the last time a beloved party member of either side attacked the current front runner? The GOP has become a joke.

Yep and I'd be joined by a lot of Americans who will never support Trump's hate and fear-based campaign.

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch argued Wednesday that Republicans would be "mad" not to rally around Donald Trump should the businessman become the GOP presidential nominee.

Murdoch, who suggested earlier this week that Republicans should "close ranks to fight real enemy," shared a tweet Wednesday saying Trump is "reaching out to make peace" with members of the party.

"If he becomes inevitable party would be mad not to unify," Murdoch wrote.

Judging by the full out assault on Donald, I"ll be surprised to see them "unify" around him after this is all said and done.

You obviously know little about Cruz. He's despised in Washington because he goes along with nothing the establishment wants. Nothing. He doesn't have a friend in Washington because he bucks everything. He calls the entirety of Washington a "cartel", and that's aimed at both sides.

And Rubio was a Tea Party guy until the immigration mess. He's the most establishment of the two though.

Actually, I agree with you.

I was unfair to Cruz.

I dislike the hell out of him but it wasn't fair to paint him as a party hack.

th

Not even close, the wore out attempt to make two dissimilar object appear to be the same...

Did Obama insist white folks danced in the streets when MLK was shot?

Did Obama ever claim he could force another country to pay for a wall?

Did Obama ever claim he was capable of being anything he needed to be?

Obama changed his mind on SSM to be INCLUSIVE, The Donald has changed his mind on Abortion, Planned Parenthood, the bank bail out, and Hillary to be RESTRICTIVE.

I can't stand Trump either, but I'd never vote for do-nothing leech like Sanders.

I'm like that with Cruz. I don't like him, although I should. He's the smartest, most principled person in the race, but he drives me batty. Probably says more about me than him. LOL

You don't want to go there.

Apparently, you're not familiar with Captain Executive Action and his Castro-like view of his position.

That's your choice which you're entitled to but the show will go on without you.

I'm fortunate enough to have earned my way free and clear of all these implications, but most have not.

There are violent and scary days ahead in America, I fear. People have been lied to and pushed way too far, which is what makes nobodies like Obama and Trump even possible in a presidential election.

You don't want to go there.

Just did... ;)

The difference between Trump and Obama is exponential. You would have done better to put up a picture of Reagan coz he promised much, but turned a creditor nation into a debtor nation, with tax increases 7 of 8 years... :peace

Pubs carry on like this but it never seems to come to anything... vague accusations, tyrant, king, most whatever EVER!!!!!! :doh

So you've never heard Obama speak with demagogue tongue?

In other words, you've got nothing.

If the investigation gains steam, it will become really problematic for her. Especially with Trump hammering it in the low-rent way he does.

Folks from all sides are fed up, and they're going Trump to give the finger to the establishment. Hillary is the definition of the establishment.

and Trump is the definition of a con man.

and Trump is the definition of a con man.

On that, we agree completely. He tapped into a nerve of people that literally have no faith in their government anymore. You can only be lied to so many times, and like a true con man, he's swept in to be that "answer".

The Democrats and Republicans brought this on themselves. And yes, there are a LOT of Democrats supporting him. He might even take New York in a general election, which would be church.

God help us.

I have no doubt that if Hillary is indicted, the GOP will drop Trump like a rock.

I'll take that bet. You're still not getting it.

I'll take that bet. You're still not getting it.

I get the angst and animosity, but tell me how you think Trump can accomplish one of his empty platitudes.

I'd be on board if he was a conservative, but he's not. He's an interloping Democrat who's pulling of the biggest prank of all time.

It'll be Hillary versus Hillary II in the end.

If Trump wins, which is looking very likely, the "establishment" will fall in line. If they try to pull some shenanigans to deny Trump the nomination, he'll most likely go third party and take 30-40% of the GOP base with him. Their choices are to back Trump and hope to be able to work with him or to jettison Trump only to have him turn around bury them. The first option is preferable.

For far too long the GOP has focused too much on winning elections and not nearly enough on providing solutions that make peoples lives better and the nation stronger. They did this to themselves.
