libs have been enjoying the GOP bar brawl and watched with glee Trump's rise as the new "face" of the republican party. We have had our nightmares.

so all I can say is: time to share the nightmares. They don't think Trump can win a general election. Let's see if someone under FBI INDICTMENT can win, shall weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

Judging by how the establishment has been acting, they would squash the investigation if it ensured Trump would lose.

That is incorrect from my point of view. Liberals don't appear to be all gooey over Hillary. It is not what we are seeing so far. By the same token a lot of conservatives are not happy with the GOP clown car options. In essence people on both sides of the isle and many more in the middle are not happy with either party.

From your post I'm guessing that you are a partisan. You'll be among the last to realize that you've missed the boat.

Well, that's odd. I've been told lots and lots that this isn't a criminal investigation... how can you be given immunity if there is no crime?

Immunity from prosecution" means he is going to testify as an FBI witness. The FBI investigates and recommends, but does not indict. The Grand a Jury does that through testimony of witnesses.

In English, this means the FBI is very close to requesting a Grand Jury. And the ball may be getting ready to roll.

They own the democrats a speedy resolution of their "Hillary Problem".

Immunity can be offered as an incentive or scare/negotiation technique.

I do not believe we can fully conclude the guy has flipped (yet).

Now, it is possible ...

This is odd also. This is a quote from the article:
So far, there is no indication that prosecutors have convened a grand jury in the email investigation to subpoena testimony or documents, which would require the participation of a U.S. attorney’s office.

Here is an article where Lynch states that there ARE attorneys from the DOJ working with the FBI on the investigation:
“Well, thank you, Judge, and Congressman Carter, with respect to our investigation into how information was handled by the State Department, how they handle classified information, as I’m sure you know that matter is being handled by career, independent, law enforcement agents, FBI agents, as well as the career, independent attorneys in the Department of Justice,” Lynch said.

There also have been rumors that Abedin, Sullivan and Mills have bees notified that they will be required to answer questions under oath for the FBI. Those are just rumors however but this adds up.

It seems the article in WaPo contradicts itself as it says that there are no Justice Department attorneys working on this case and they it quotes Lynch as stating that there are DOJ attorneys working on the case:
“That matter is being handled by career independent law enforcement agents, FBI agents, as well as the career independent attorneys in the Department of Justice. They follow the evidence, they look at the law and they’ll make a recommendation to me when the time is appropriate.”

I think you are referring to two different establishments here. One would be RNC and one would be the DOJ. Comey, director of the FBI isn't concerned about politics. He is a pretty interesting guy.

The Democrats might have to do a brokered convention to name Bernie as the candidate.

Gowdy stated that he wouldn't offer the guy immunity in the Benghazi investigation so it wouldn't step on the toes of the FBI in the event that they wanted to offer him immunity for his testimony. At this point the guy has to testify or go to jail as he has no 5th amendment rights since he can't convict himself with his testimony.
