Trump wins NASCAR Endorsement

Trump wins over the "car on the lawn" and "I didn't realize she was my sister, we were both drunk" vote. NASCAR CEO along with several drivers publicly endorse Donald Trump for President.
Nice borderline racist stereotypes. You left out "white trash" and "inbred."

...oh wait...I see the "sister" blast covers inbreeding. Good job.

You're welcome. I assumed "car on the lawn" counted for "white trash."

Same ole liberal hypocrisy.

I'm not a hypocrite. I have no desire to hold myself to some "liberal standard" and only speak for myself.

But that reminds me, have you ever been to or seen the NASCAR audience? Stereotypes usually have some basis in reality in many cases.

I have probably been to over a hundred Nascar, Indy, and F1 races. I have been to F1 races overseas.

Nascar fans are no different than any other fans, except you don't see Nascar fans burning cars, or flipping police cars after a certain drivers win................like in Football, Soccer, and Basketball.

Y'know, having been raised as a redneck in a family of rednecks who wore the name proudly in the MS Delta, I've since had the opportunity to see both sides of the story...

...and there's a reason why teenage pregnancy rates are generally HIGHER in red states. There's a reason why divorce rates are generally higher in red states. Homicide rates, too. And red states generally have lower rates of educational attainment.

These are all FACTS...

...and now we'll see if you actually read the post to this point, because none of the above facts - and they are facts - have to do with race, ethnicity, or whether one's in a red state or blue state. If you've read the post to this point, then maybe, just maybe you'll wonder why this far-left liberal (who was once a strong conservative redneck) says that liberal or conservative governance has nothing to do with the fact that red states have greater levels of social problems. The only question is, are you going to ask what that reason is.

Nascar CEO and drivers endorsing trump is big news. There was nothing in the thread or link concerning Trumps inherent racism or the racist make up of his supporters. You literally whined at an imaginary post.

Try answering the question. What is wrong with rednecks? I work with a lot of them and they are fun loving people, much more so than my liberal educated family back in New England.

Rednecks as people? Plenty of them in my own family (born and raised partially in Texas) and I enjoy them. Love redneck humor.

As voters, just as the Dems have em on our side, a lot are usually the "low information voters" on the right. The guys who get all riled up over non-issues like abortions, gay marriages, and Mexicans taking all our low wage jobs. So the thread, and the endorsement was to highlight that.

The only thing more adorable than a lib getting caught playing the race card is the lengths in which they will go to conceal the fact that they were playing the race card.:D

Race cards and race cars... hmm. There's a meme in this somewhere.

Rednecks are a group of people, not a race. And I'm not concealing anything.

Redneck are a group of people often stereotyped as racist.

I mean the whole anti-illegal, anti-Muslim thing seems to be a sentiment fed on ignorance, not necessarily racism. I don't consider illegal immigration or Muslim immigration/refugees to be even close to near the top of important issues facing our nation (though I do think both need to be addressed) but talking to your average "redneck" voter you'd think these are the top political issues of the day.

Truth is both parties and their members are experiencing job loss to technology and outsourcing, and both parties are frustrated by a myriad of issues. But blaming illegal immigrants is not how we address these issues, yet it's what has propelled Donald Trump to the top of the list.

What has propelled Trump to the top of the GOP field is a general distrust, dissatisfaction, and anger with the status quo.

It's going to be interesting during the general when he starts to siphon off Sanders supporters, too.

Jack, I know its pointless to try to have a discussion with you but you brought up the race card (more like a race/whine card) when you responded to an imaginary post in the thread. Again, the NASCAR CEO endorsing trump is big news all by itself. not the least being that he's from NY.

I think that's what has propelled him lately and broken his supposed "ceiling" of support. But the initial reception to his arrival into the fold had to do with his comments on illegal immigration.

Which, for the record I understand to a point. We do need to curb it. But we've had net illegal immigration the last two years in a row, with more leaving the country than entering. You can't possibly blame the issues with our economy (stagnant wages, loss of high paying middle class jobs) on illegal immigrants.

What Trump HAS done that I do support is called out our ****ty trade deals like NAFTA and tax inversions where companies "relocate" overseas to avoid paying US taxes. I'm still up in the air about who I want to support if it comes down to Hillary vs. Trump. But my potential support for Trump will be decided if he cools it off with the illegal immigrant talk and lays out actual plans for our trade deals and preventing tax inversions.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with the fact that NASCAR has lost about 75% of the popularity that it once had and has pretty much been relegated to the back page. The stands are half empty, the sponsors are leaving in droves, and most of the races have now been kicked to lesser networks like FS1.

It's much more about the narrative. Don't kid yourself.

Jack, I know its pointless to try to have a discussion with you...

When you start off with remarks like this...

wah wah wah, geez, you can even whine about imaginary statements.

...it doesn't exactly set the tone for constructive dialogue. Perhaps you should look in the mirror.

When did NASCAR become a political organization?

Huge advertising. NASCAR has the most loyal fans of advertising of any sport. There is always some political statement going on in NASCAR. Usually it is low key.

Your "stereotype" is as stupid as your post is.

Jack, I’m not complaining about your demeanor. I’m complaining about your integrity. I pointed out that you whined at an imaginary post and brought up the race card. After trying to deflect you then accused me of bringing up the race card. Jack, the Nascar CEO and some drivers endorsed Trump. In spite of your nascar ‘business update’, its newsworthy. Stop flailing at that.

Yes but why does NASCAR have to do it? I do not see the NHL or the NBA doing it.

It's perfectly reasonable actually. The drivers heard Trump loves "Race ests".

I laugh at anyone who underestimated this man. I did at one point too. I stopped underestimating him back in October though. The writing has been on the wall for months and months, and that includes the Bernie Sanders surge. American's HATE politicians. And for good reason.

I feel stronger than ever this country needs to be broken up into several mini-countries that share a common currency. Americans cannot handle working/compromising together. Keeping things as is only hurts society in the end.
