Amidst our obsession with this crazy election season is a very important vote coming from across the pond in June.

The UK's EU referendum: All you need to know - BBC News

[h=2]What is happening?[/h]UK Prime Minister David Cameron has announced a referendum on whether Britain should remain in the European Union to be held on Thursday 23 June. This article is designed to be an easy-to-understand guide - and a chance to ask other questions, a selection of which we'll be answering at the bottom of the page.

[h=2]What will the referendum question be?[/h]The question is always crucial in any referendum. The Electoral Commission proposed the wording, which has been accepted by MPs: "Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?" The options for voters will be 'Remain a member of the European Union' and 'Leave the European Union'.

I so much want to see the UK return to its former greatness. I have co-workers from there that are despondent about what they've seen happen to their country, their heritage, and their culture. They tell me, they have to go to a futbal game to remember who they are anymore. One guy said to me, knowing I like time-piece British films, "We watch them, too, to remember who we used to be."

The EU has such control over these countries and their ability to determine what's best for their own people. Here's hoping the entirety of the U.K. can re-find itself and extract from the EU.

Referenda of this type usually simplify thing beyond usefulness and thus exclude a sensible decision.
