What a complete idiot! What is it about McConnell that he has Zero self-control and cannot stop himself from opening his mouth and saying stupid things. Its not as if the GOP is imploding on its own.....they don't need McConnell to inflict further damage on the party.:doh

It surely seems that the status quo of Political IOUs, patronage, MIC, Banking, BigCorporate, and and others who hold the paper on election IOUs are scared ****tless that they will lose their power with a Trump presidency. Now, if so, I think that is a good thing. On the other hand, they can maintain the status quo if Hillary is elected. Not a very promising scenario for Democrats. To me, the only salvation is Bernie Sanders. Warmongers, Banks and Big Corporate hate him so he must be the best thing since sliced bread for the lowly people, a/k/a taxpayer.

Yep. I think this is proof that Trump isn't making any backdoor deals to play ball and that he's actually serious about doing something re: illegal immigration and stopping our bad trade deals.

Have you read that thread that states over 45% of Americans don't pay taxes?

Re: Mitch Mcconnell says republicans will drop Donald Trump like a hot rock if he win

That's almost a reason to vote for him, not against him.

McConnell wouldn't know spine if they built him a bionic one.

Re: Mitch Mcconnell says republicans will drop Donald Trump like a hot rock if he win

repubs should drop mcconnell like a hot rock

Yeah, even if he has to act like Hitler in order to do it, huh? (e.g. make all Muslims register with the government, not allow Muslims to cross America's borders anymore, make it even easier to sue the press for libel, go door-to-door with "papers-please" gestapo to expel 12M undocumented immigrants)

Gee, what could possibly go wrong?

You and the former president of Mexico should get a room. You can Godwin together. :lamo

Re: Mitch Mcconnell says republicans will drop Donald Trump like a hot rock if he win

Or he could just enforce our current immigration law and spend a few months finding better methods for vetting refugees to ensure we aren't letting terrorists into the country.

But hey go full Godwin on post 7 on the first page, that will definitely make your case.

It's called executing the law when undocumented immigrants are expelled. Should the US government prosecute terrorists? Wouldn't that be considered 'acting like Hitler'? How about the US government fulfilling a quota of minority students entering colleges? Like Hitler?

Re: Mitch Mcconnell says republicans will drop Donald Trump like a hot rock if he win

Democrats seem to be wishing for a Trump nomination, because they consider him to be unviable in the general. though i don't completely disagree as he's unfit for office, it's a risky bet. i'd prefer it if the Republicans nominated someone else.

I've never been to Kentucky....but considering that Mitch McConnell and Kim Davis have been the spotlight on Kentucky...I don't think I want to go there any time soon. Are there any normal people in the state?

Kentucky is full of conservatives. Each has their own mind...why it's so hard to convince a block of conservatives to go a certain way.

Davis is liberal, yet she refused to sign gay marriage certificates. Typical Kentuckian.
McConnell is all about working together. Atypical Kentuckian. I'm guessing he's from the big city? Louisville?

You're surprised there are stupid government officials?

C'mon DD

Criminal v. Poe. The American people should have demanded different candidates to vote for instead of voting for a criminal and a poe.

We can stop people from coming to this country using any criteria including religion. It's an ugly policy but legal. Far better than our current policy of allowing immigrants before we can even do a proper vetting process.

Illegal Immigrants don't have Constitutional rights. Many Americans support Arizona's controversial law that required identification during arrests and traffic stops to determine a person's citizenship. That can and should be implemented and the only reason why Arizona did it is because the feds refuse to do their jobs.

Hate's a terrible word to use, but I do hate what the establishment GOP, and establishment Dems too, are doing to our country.

So if the establishment hate Trump, I believe it could be a good thing and good for this country.

I guess the old adage applies, too: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"!

Re: Mitch Mcconnell says republicans will drop Donald Trump like a hot rock if he win

Mitch McConnell is one of many reason that Trump running for 2016 came to be in the first place, which is to say he is one of those Establishment Republicans that is responsible for leadership making such a mess of the party that a Trump campaign became plausible. Party affiliation is at low numbers, so is Congressional approval.

McConnell is 74, and has been in the Senate since 1985.

All he is doing is showing he is willing to move political gridlock because a Democrat is in office, to gridlock because Establishment Republicans in Congress do not even want to work with "the wrong" Republican in the White House.

It is the height of lunacy, and one of many reasons that McConnell should leave the Senate. Just walk away and shut the **** up.

If Bernie won't be the next POTUS there is a part of me that wants it to be Trump. At least he would shake the system up and maybe make the establishment become more responsive to the People.

Though I am not sure that would outweigh the possible downsides to a President Trump.

It won't outweigh the possible downsides by a considerable margin in my opinion, Bob.

I think Donald Trump could be a disaster for the United States...in fact, I think it almost certain he WOULD be a disaster for the US.

Re: Mitch Mcconnell says republicans will drop Donald Trump like a hot rock if he win

I feel the American people need to wake up and take a close look at the GOP and DNC because clearly both are working against the people this election cycle. Sanders and Trump both of which have a large amount of support among the people are essentially being rejected by the establishment. Those critters in Washington need to remember that it is we The People that should be making this decision and not them. When they so blatantly work against the will of the people in their own self interest we need to stand up and make it clear that they are in Washington to serve us and not themselves.

I feel exactly as you do, and right now I'm very much leaning to vote for him rather than Hillary. I can't say for sure, because he may say or do something in the interim that gives me pause, but right now my vote looks like it's going to him.

Unless I get jitters in the booth, when it comes time to pull the handle ...

Well, I wouldn't personally go that far. I'll either vote Green or write in Bernie.

No matter how this election plays out, I think it could be a turning point for establishment politics. For the longest time people have complained about the establishment but in the end backed it anyway. This time the establishment on both sides of the aisle has been given a good scare. And the voters seem to be waking up and demanding change. I'm not sure they will get change this time around, but we are moving closer. And if Hillary wins this time around she will be starting her presidency with a very low approval rating. If she continues with the status quo, which is almost certain, my money is on the next president NOT being an establishment candidate.
