uh oh. i hope it wasnt another muslim terrorist.
?
because what? are you hoping it was?
Just a bit of an odd comment, I don't mean to get into a pissing match while a terrible tradegy is unfolding... But why would you hope it wasn't someone in particular when we have absolutely no idea and when it could just be a co-worker who lost his mind.
Because...?
And America just keeps doing its best to keep pace with that one mass shooting per day.
I guess the gun haters are hoping for more-such tragedies seem to be the ideal tool for Bannites to try to overwhelm reason to push their idiotic gun laws
That's a pretty grossly innacurate statement. I am not at all enamored with guns as you well know. To suggest that others want more shooting is just nonsense. Imagine if I accused you of that?
The real issue to be addressed is why people are going postal now as opposed to in the past. Guns have always been readily available, yet school and workplace shootings haven't occurred in the past like they are today.

a psychologist I have known since we both attended the same grade school and who specializes in young adults-often those with court issues, notes that the "glorification" and the "fame" these active shooters get is part of the problem that causes others to engage in such idiocy. As my late father noted, he went to prep school during WWII and he and many of his classmates who were competitive rifle or shotgun shooters had easy access to firearms-yet no one got shot even though at that all boys prep school, there were plenty of fist fights. Later in college, my father was in the USNRs and had shore patrol after class meaning he would often attend class in uniform with his 45 caliber pistol on his hip which was what he carried on duty. He was not unique but no one ever got shot there either

Fair question.
This lay opinion is that there is much more stress today in terms of personal expectations and keeping up with the Joneses. Even the ease of getting into creditor hell plays a part. Even student loans. Those personal circumstances may combine with a recipe of antidepressants or even a childhood that included ADHD meds, etc., given to undeveloped human brains.
I have absolutely no idea what percipitated this latest workplace shooting. But I will be surprised if one or more of the circumstances I mention were not involved.
I'd be curious to know how many of these mass shooters were taking prescription medications, Zoloft etc. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of connection.
