Carly Fiorina Suspends GOP Presidential Bid

If she was well compensated she must have some business savvy.

Is savvy the conservative word for self centered thief? I'd opine the HP board paid whatever it took to get rid of her, though compared to what the hedge fund/investment executives 'savvy'd' for themselves as the invisible hand drove of economy over a cliff in 2008 she is a 'savvy' lightweight... :peace

I guess the country just isn't ready for an accomplished woman in the Oval Office.

We are. It would be nice if we could find one. Of course the Democrats are offering Hillary Clinton. As a joke, I suppose.

I like Carly but I don't think she was the right person for this job.

You'd opine that? I don't know....some proof would be better. Some people would opine that the dot.com burst that happened right after she took the helm contributed to the downfall of HP at that time.

The Board put her in the role. The Board let her go from the role. I guess the Board was smart when you agree with their decisions, but stupid when you didn't...is that about right?

It's too bad she decided to enter politics (in the wrong party). I'm going to guess most people on here wouldn't have the slightest knowledge of the Carly Fiorina story if it wasn't for Think Progress and the other Liberal attack pieces that started coming out when she ran for Senate.

Actually it was her rather poor handling of the corporation during the dot.com crash that forced the Board to accept Carly just wasn't savvy enough to run a major corporation (due note she wasn't hired by any other dot.com giant- says volumes about how her contemporaries judged her 'skills')

The Board corrected a mistake, they chose poorly, some say Carly 'turned' on the Board during the lay-off debates and finally the Board had enough.

I agree that if Carly had stayed out of politics most Americans wouldn't know much about her- only those who worked for HP or it's spin-off Agilent would know anything about her- and they would turn to spit to get the taste out their mouths...

Do note her senate bid was as successful as her Presidential run, or her career as major corporation CEO. OH FYI the article quoted in this thread by another poster isn't from a 'liberal' attack piece.... :peace

It's interesting, because the Wall Street Journal has the words of someone on the Board who voted to oust her and who has a completely different take than you. Of course it doesn't quite fit in with what you opined, but why let facts get in the way?

Starting completely non-political, but what the hell...

For reasons that I cannot articulate, I think Carly Fiorina is kind of sexy.

I don't think she's qualified to be President, though. If she really wants to do something political, she should run for a House seat.

Have you any evidence Carly Fiorina is a thief?

Offer your opinion but why not base it on some demonstrated facts? Who can possible be interested in anyone throwing out these goofy charges without any provable support. This is similar to those who rely on the looks of a candidate rather than their policies and then wonder why they get such poor governments.

She should have stayed away from the abortion issue.

Competence is not ideology or gender based, then again perhaps for you it is different.

I don't know about that. A freshman Senator, with little demonstrated government competence, and barely into his first term, became President of the United States. Certainly it wasn't any demonstrated competence that secured the position.

So, I don't think your argument has as much validity as you were hoping. Or maybe you apply a more subjective standard to the level of competency that is acceptable.
