Iran releases new photos of U.S. sailors crying

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed today Dave? Why jump on me about something that has nothing to do with this thread? This thread is about the Iranians and their treatment of US Sailors that they captured in open waters, not Bush, or TORTURE, or who's side anyone is on, or whether I support the former CinC. Now, as for the Geneva Conventions are concerned, the only part that is in question in this thread is the Article that I quoted regarding the forbidding of the use of video or pictures of prisoners of war to be used for propaganda purposes, which again, I can't seem to connect to what you are fussing at me about.

I'm a little grumpy because I seem to be catching a cold, nevertheless, I was comparing the Iranian photo behavior with the USA, our behavior, as relates to torture a/k/a, waterboarding, specifically mentioned in the Geneva Conventions. The photos are a molehill being made into a mountain as they say. Why didn't the Iranians just waterboard these sailors and say it's OK because the USA says it's OK. The sailors were wrong and in Iranian waters and returned in a day, apparently an honest mistake acknowledged by both sides.

I think so but overall, and with some real exceptions, it is not a very good media. That may be the fault of the public also because they're more interested in celebrity now, even to their choice of politicians, and the market will cater to this.
And everyone everywhere else knows everything about America, with some of it even being true. There is just more going on in the US and it's an entertainment magnet.

But that's what happens when you're superpower. Who cares about the Russian culture anymore?

Only the fair and broad-minded individual cares about the Russian culture anymore. The average viewer has been completely propagandized over the last few years and has been inundated with anti-Russian fear mongering. So it goes.

If the Iranians had behaved like our NATO ally Turkey did with the Russian airplane, the US Navy personnel and their 2 boats would have been destroyed as the Russian airplane was. Playing to the media, the Iranians treated the US sailors in a respectful and civilized manner. If only our Turkish ally were so civilized.

When Russia was a "superpower" people were interested in Russian novels, paintings, history, etc. with many dismissing Communist atrocities as 'Anti Soviet', 'Red Scare', etc. Meanwhile, the Communists were responsible for the deaths of over 100 million people during the last century.

Now Islam is becoming a major power so therefore people are becoming more interested in Islam and it's history and culture while overlooking the more inhumane actions by the Islamists and calling any criticisms "Islamophobic".

Excuses will be made for the terrorists, parallels will be drawn between past American failures and Islamism atrocities today, and real or imagined historical sins by the Christian Church will be raised. If Islamism is ever defeated then something else will take its place and the pattern repeated.

message board commandos never cry, i'm sure. they mostly just whine, piss, and moan.

attacking captured military personnel for having an emotional reaction really pisses me off.
