Chris Christie to suspend presidential campaign

It is rather arrogant and wrong to think that any voter who isn't white male....votes based on skin color and genitalia. Why do you assume that?

Except what do we call those white males who vote based upon their skin color and genitalia? Why then don't we call those who are not white males but who vote based upon skin color and genitalia the same thing?

It wasn't a dodge at all. You simply proved my point. Far too many white conservative men operate on the assumption that only THEY vote based on knowledge. They assume that if you are black, latino, female, etc.....you are not guided by knowing where candidates stand on issues that are important to you....nope....they only vote based on skin color and genitalia. THAT is absolutely absurd...yet somehow you buy into it.

Genitalia was Hillary's pitch.

Heh, it's not generally white men telling us all how learned and elite they are. That's a liberal mantra.

Perhaps we are simply not understanding each other.

This is what you said:
Having two Cubans on a ticket is not going to get Latino voters to vote against their issues.

I took that to mean that you attributed specific issues to Latino voters. Perhaps you simply meant that each voter, regardless of ethnicity, age or gender, had individual issues - but we often hear about "the Latino block" in much the same way we hear about "the young female block" or "the black vote". What specific issue do you feel that would cause Rubio or Cruz not to enjoy a larger share of the Latino vote than say Trump or Kaisich would get?

In answer to your question in a general sense....I think it goes back to the party platform. I don't know that there are specific black issues or Latino issues, etc....I think most voters vote based on what they believe the candidates stance on the issues are and how closely it correlates to their own. I think most Latino voters and black voters stands on issues are more closely in line with the Democratic platform than the Republicans. Therefore, I don't think that Latino voters will flock to Cruz or Rubio, simply because they have a Latino name...because they will look at where the candidates stand on issues that are important to them and will realize that they white woman or the old white guy would be a better choice for them. Blacks weren't voting for Obama because he was black...they voted for Obama because his position on the issues were the same as his. Do you honestly believe that if this election came down to Hillary v. Carson, that blacks would come out in huge numbers to vote for Carson? If not, then you have to clearly question your assumption in the first situation.

They are called the same thing. Since when have they not been called the same thing?

For quite some time now folks around here have been arguing that if you're not white you can't be racist. Are we seriously still doubting that a whole lot of folks voted for Obama based upon his skin color?

Should strop arguing and go for facts

I'm sure just as many voted against him because of his skin color. Ideally all voters would vote based on nothing but the quality of the candidate but we know that's not the case.

The first part I doubt and the ensuing celebrating of the "first black president" enforces my opinion. The second part, absolutely.

There are no facts, just opinions in this matter. We're talking about a term that means different things to different people. Even when you can get folks to agree on a common definition, somehow the words mean something different to each.
