... congress declares it DOA. He really would spend 4.1 Trillion in 2017 and rack up another (estimated) 650ish Billion in debt.

Obama's last budget proposal would spend $4.1 trillion

“President Obama will leave office having never proposed a budget that balances — ever," House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., said in a statement released minutes after the budget became public. "This isn’t even a budget so much as it is a progressive manual for growing the federal government at the expense of hardworking Americans."

I know that Republicans like to give lip service to ideas like "balanced budgets" but do these thoughts even cross the minds of Democrats?

It only did when Reagan and the Bushes were in office. Oh, and when Clinton benefited when Republicans held the purse strings.

It's interesting to recall years of blog posts from liberal/socialist progressives who railed about budgets and deficits, only to see them go silent when the ideological driver of them was aligned with their thinking.

I've been one who tries to remember that words can come back to haunt a person - a concept I see little evidence of realizing in many posters on sites like this.
