Rand Paul drops out.

I was a Paul supporter and I can't stand either Trump or Cruz. I'm going with Rubio but I really wish there was a "None of the above" option.

Thanks. As am I.

I did like Rand. I went to some of his events here and met him a couple of times. Nice young man. Just unfortunately he never resonated here.

I think the more that drop out the harder it will be on Trump. I don't see Trump absorbing much of anyone else's followers.

No, sorry. You know i have mad personal love for the Bern but I don't like his ideas. I'm a Rubio girl, which is kind of like an Obama girl, but with smaller breasts and an extra decade or two.

Hehe, great post. :)

Anyone that supports Trump should know that he called you stupid when talking to the New York Times.

Anyway, Trump is a farce and most people are smart enough to see through his bull****. Not only that but his ideas are completely out of line with the rest of the candidates.

I've been wrong about his support thus far so we'll see. His support isn't political at all. It's very much emotionally based and that's very difficult to gauge in a political race.

It's more of the idiot segment of the population that is both democratic and republican. He gets the moron that can't see that Trump is a fake and doesn't believe in anything he is telling them. He has no intention of building a wall, doing anything about illegal immigration, putting in place protectionist policies, dealing with omfg Muslims, any of it. It's all just make believe to fool morons into voting for him. The best part is he openly laughs it up with the New York Times about how all he has to do is say BUILD A WALL and his supporters forget about everything he said right before that. It's unlikely that Trump picks up any real support from people that supported dropped out candidates nor is it likely that Trump supporters continue to desire to vote if he drops out in the future.

I agree. I think he tops out at 25%, GOP voters and 10% independents for some strange reason, and for the life of me 10% Reagan/JFK Dems. His problem is turnout. I don't see it happening. I think he wins NH handedly, but get trounced in SC, by Cruz and Rubio in Nevada.

Anyone's game from there.

I actually liked Rand, too. I'm not surprised by this. Question is who do his supporters go to now....

There aren't enough of them to really make much of a difference. My guess would be that they would go to Trump because Rand supporters are not much for the establishment....and I don't see them flocking to Cruz.

His politics aside I like Bernie. He's a Brooklyn boy so I can relate to him, he seems to be the genuine article who actually believes what he's preaching and his heart is in the right place.

We may not be much for the establishment but we aren't crazy. Nor stupid.

He gains lots of points for honesty. His negatives are the lowest of any candidate.

Rand Paul wasn't a perfect candidate but he was the best of the current GOP field. I will miss the moments of sanity he brought to the debates.

The one guy that was even remotely acceptable is out. I had no intention of voting for Rand Paul or even to vote, but still it's telling how much this system fails to represent people.

How does the system fail to represent people? It might not represent people who are quite open about not voting... perhaps small pockets in Idaho or in ones or twos across the vast republic...

but I'm curious, who isn't running you'd vote for and if I may, how many others would vote for that person?

This go-round we seem to have had an extremely diverse field- from a rather poor 'socialist' to a billionaire, throw in the libertarian, 'social conservatives', hawkish democrat, rather laid back doctor, and a couple of Cuban heritaged guys, a female failed CEO and damn Sam, what more do you want??? :peace

Rand Paul is not libertarian and does not call himself a libertarian. Most of these candidates will be out of the running before most people even get a chance to vote for them, so regardless of them being there from the start only a small group of people in the whole country gets a chance to voice their approval for them. If your candidate does badly in the first state that is up chances are your guy is out and you have no one to vote for.

Agreed. He's already peaked, and if not for a huge field of candidates, he wouldn't be in nearly as good of shape as it seems. If it were only three candidates, in fact, I think Trump would be in third place.

Ummm, ok, ahhhh now about what we were REALLY talking about- who isn't running you'd vote for and how popular would that person be?

You apparently didn't see anyone you'd vote for at all, much less has dropped out- who is your ideal candidate?

I wouldn't vote under any situation.

So let me get this straight, politicans who tell the public that the government is wasteful and are spending to much money then go and spend millions on a election campaign which they end after one state????

American politics hurts my head.

So the wouldn't vote under any situation... you don't care for democracy??? :peace

Just be happy that's all it hurts. If you lived on this side of the Atlantic, you'd have more maladies than just a head ache. Parts of your ass would be ripped off - especially at the wallet area - and other appendages and extremities would suffer catastrophic damage as well. The left and right sides of your body would be constantly at war with each other. It isn't pretty.
