The Koch network is unlikely to endorse a Republican presidential candidate in the primary, but what is less clear is if the conservative activists who spent $400 million in the last presidential election will actively try to defeat Trump in the primary. It's possible that they will and it's a decision that will be made after the early primary states have voted, a senior official at the Koch-backed political action committee Freedom Partners Action Fund told NBC News.

Turns out that the Koch Brothers don't like the candidate who is ahead, so they want to buy a president who is more to their liking. If Donald Trump is ahead after New Hampshire, then expect the Koch hit machine to go to work.

As amazing as it will sound, Trump obtaining the nomination might actual mute the Koch "network" of political action groups.

They'd be better off to attack the OTHER candidates and get it paired down to a single competitor to Trump. They're splitting the votes against him.

Obviously they didn't get the memo. It's 'going' on.

Can't have another billionaire running the country now can we?

Yep. Wonder if the same didn't happen in 2012?

Why does the Left hate the Koch brothers again?

Some see the influence of such large sums of money as favors to be paid, access to be granted, and their single handed influence on Presidential- State Candidates for Office and policies changes at the State/Federal levels.

That's their right.

Indeed it is, but I wonder if they see the value in it right now. The mega-billions of both establishment parties aren't making much of a dent in Trump, Cruz, or Sanders right now. Might as well just throw it in the ocean.

Hence, the Clinton Foundation.

I can't imagine what anyone's motivations, rationalizations, cost-benefit analysis, etc. would be to spend as much as they do on elections. All I know is that they have a boat load more money than I do, and I think it's great that the Unions, George Soros and Hollywood stars have a rival on the right, even if I don't agree with the Koch's.

If Trump were to prevail on this fight maybe, just maybe the right wing in this country would finally be for overturning citizens united.

To be fair, many already are:

Bloomberg Poll: Americans Want Supreme Court to Turn Off Political Spending Spigot

In a new Bloomberg Politics national poll, 78 percent of those responding said the Citizens United ruling should be overturned, compared with 17 percent who called it a good decision.

There is no legal basis to overturned citizens united. Just look at the dissenting opinion in the case it only argues that the ruling is harmful and says nothing about unconstitutional. Which is why neither Bernie neither or Hillary are calling for it to be overturned, they are calling for an amendment to the constitution.

I'd be willing to bet that 80% of those who said they were against it had no idea what it was.

Ho much are they spending on donation to the Democratic Party?

The foundation doesn't have to spend a penny. It's the super rich around the world that line up to donate to them and receive their ration of favors that do.

The Wolves are in charge of the hen house. So that poll could be 100%, but it wouldn't matter. No way the incumbents are going to shut of their spigot.

You and I both could ask a poll question in a certain way to to skew the results of the poll. 99% of the people who were polled on the matter, have little or no knowledge on the subject. 90% of the folks on this forum had no idea what it was about until now.

...or congress could just pass a bill making political contributions public.

78 percent of the public couldn't change their underwear without a tag in the back. Means nothing. There's a Constitution in place.

Funny you guys didn't want to put gay marriage or Roe v. Wade up for a vote, but this should be?

You find being able to outright purchase politicians funny? I guess we will just continue to see things differently.

Just gotta put people on the bench who know that property isn't speech.

Point made. How I missed that, well I can be frightfully stupid at times.

I think speech is considered a property right...in the same way that conscience, freedom and belief are a natural right in property.
