Hundreds of DHS badges, guns, cell phones lost or stolen since 2012

I met with OIG guys once. they told me of a surprise inspection conducted of a US military installation's armory in what was once West Germany. This took place three weeks or so before it was "scheduled"

in the armory they found numerous machine guns, real assault rifles and a few heavier items that had been reported "lost in war games, training or operations" since they were reported lost no one would go looking for them if they were stolen. So crooked members of the military would stash them in the armory-but until there was an inspection, they were well hidden. The perpetrators figured they had 3 more weeks to transport the weapons out of the armory where they could be sold or secreted back to the states.

I hope they had a long stay in Kansas.

yeah pretty bad. maybe the Sombre Negra got some of the guns too through the "company"

We thought a couple of illegal immigrants breaking into tool sheds on the ranch across the road was a big deal. I sure am glad I live where I do.

yeah, we have a pretty safe area though we're only 20 miles from what was deemed the most dangerous neighborhood in the USA a few years ago.

Can you imagine going to your boss to fill out a "Lost Gun" Report?

I mean... What exactly would that sound like?

'Well, geee. I don't know were I put it boss, I just ... kinda set it down somewhere, and I can rightly remember where I put it! But, now, don't you worry, I'm gunna think about that real hard for the next couple of work days,.... and if a.... if I don't remember, ...

Well, Somebodies bound to find it, and if were lucky, they start shoot'in it, and we'll hear where its at see!? :)

Now don't you worry, I had it all loaded real good, and I lost those five extra 30 round magazines all loaded with it, so they're gunna make allot of Noise!

Boss?!... Bossss.... why you look'in at me like that?

'Hey Boss! I got a great idea! We could use the computer to make a "Lost Machine Gun" poster, you know, like the ones for lost puppies and cats, and post them up on telephone poles and shop windows all over town! We could put the office phone number on little tear off tabs across the bottom and all... so, what do you think!?'

They should be following military standards. In the military you'd be court martialed for losing your weapon even if it was stolen.

The military counts each bullet!
