(CNN)Federal authorities arrested Ammon Bundy, the leader of a group of protesters occupying a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon, during a traffic stop Tuesday, a law enforcement official told CNN.

Up to eight of Bundy's followers were detained, the source said.

Shots were fired after authorities made the stop, according to the source. It's not clear who fired first.

I'm not a big fan of the federal government, and I fully support an armed uprising against it when the time comes. This isn't the battlefield I am willing to die on. But that is just me.

I just hope the FBI did the smart thing and video recorded the whole confrontation. Don't leave any room for speculation and conspiracy to allow these loons to gain support.

Not at this time, and no current events today would get me to rise to the occasion. I'm just saying that I would if there was something I felt as worthy but this story isn't it.
