Trump Says He Could 'Shoot Somebody' And Still Maintain Support with Video

Donald Trump said Saturday that his supporters are so loyal that he would not lose backers even if he were to shoot someone in the middle of downtown Manhattan.
"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, okay, and I wouldn't lose any voters, okay?" Trump said at a rally in Sioux Center, Iowa as the audience laughed. "It's, like, incredible."

Trump has previously boasted about the devotion of his fans, but the new comment is the most extreme example of such a remark.

As a hyperbole practitioner, this doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's just an offhand comment meant to exaggerate the reality of the situation.
 
He might be joking, but I also think he is correct. When he attacked McCain's POW status and continued rising in the polls I realized Trump can do no wrong in the eyes of his supporters.

Hillary could shoot someone on national TV, and the leftwingers would still vote for her. Pretty nerving complaining about Trump.

Maybe - but then maybe you are just projecting your thoughts into another person without them ever thinking in that way. We also have the fact that Hillary has never said anything close to this Trumpian spewing of words. Creating a false image of your opponent is never a good way to discuss differences but then it is apparent to many that the modern GOP is unwilling to accept anything as real if not found in their platform.
 
Well, he means he wouldn't lose any votes, he wouldn't get any votes. He'd be locked up. We'd all be better off except for the guy who took the bullet. Maybe even him.

The email server case is enough proof for me that Democrats will follow their chosen ones into Hell, NO MATTER WHAT.

Mocking a cripple and getting no ding at all did it for me, proved this point to me. It was astonishing. Bush still cant believe it, he just ran an ad on this in NH a week or so ago.

It completely amazes me how people from both parties are deaf, dumb, and blind when it comes to their party.

you know as well as the rest of us, that NBC is not going to cut Trump ANY SACK AT ALL.

anytime they can key in on him of making any outrageous statements or one they can portray as outrageous, they will do it.

apparently i don't know as well as the rest of you
from my vantage i cannot see a context other than the reporting that trump expressed such a degree of support
so, again, please share the difference in contexts that you see presented
