Teen walking in park with dad raped by group of men
Five fiends took turns raping a terrified teenage girl in a Brooklyn playground Thursday evening, police said on Saturday. The 18-year-old and her dad were inside Osborn Playground, near Hegeman Avenue and Osborn Street in Brownsville, at 9:10 p.m. when the perverts, all strangers, accosted them. One had a gun and pointed it at the pair, demanding that the father leave.
The father ran out of the park, desperately looking for help. When he left, each of the men, who ranged in age from 20 to 30, raped his daughter, cops said.By then the father had encountered two cops, who accompanied him back to the park.

New York (CNN)Four teens who forced a father to leave his daughter so they could take turns raping her at a park have been arrested, New York police say -- but a fifth suspect is still at large. The 18-year-old woman was with her father at the Osborn Playground in Brooklyn around 9 p.m. Thursday when they were approached by five males, the New York Police Department said. One of the men pulled a gun on the father and daughter and demanded the father leave the area, police said. Each of the five assailants then raped the teenager, authorities said.
"One of them put a gun in my face, telling me to run, and all of them had their way with her," the father told.He said he didn't have a cell phone with him and went to a store, begging for help -- but said people in the store wouldn't call police.

Personally I could NEVER leave my daughter, gun or no gun, it would be impossible to do.

What would you do?
I leave my daughter and look for help
I stay to protect her even if it means my life

Nothing in the world could make me leave my children if they were in harm's way. I'd give my life for them. But I've never been in this kind of a situation so I can't imagine how terrifying it was for him.

Sounds like it took a while for someone to arrive, long enough for 4 men to rape her?

Did you see the ages of those little ****ers? Two are 15, one is 17, and one is 14. Disgusting.

I saw the bodega owner admits to not letting him use the phone because he didn't believe him.

What a horrific story all around! Those poor people.

1.) yep definitely disgusting. . . just another reason why i think rape of this nature should have an option for capital punishment
2.) yeah said he just thought he was drunk and could understand him . . . i wonder how hard it is to understand "my daughter is being raped i need to call the police"
3.) not saying he should but i wouldn't be surprised if the story gets worse in the further and the dad commits suicide. Completely horrific.

I have said before and I will say it again, I would sacrifice myself for my children without a seconds thought.

So much for the myth that they cleaned up NYC.

Get close enough to me to point a gun in my face and you would die by your own gun, can be done in a split second, learn some self-defense ladies if you are not man enough to learn to carry and use a gun. What kind of coward would leave his daughter there to be raped, he can never look her in the face again and expect any respect. Good grief.

There are a good half dozen or so folks on this forum I'd like to see respond to this thread but I doubt they will.

While i wasnt there and staying could of got him killed, them both killed, they could of made him watch or any combination . . . . . .i cant help bet to feel EXACTLY like you just said . . . how could he ever look at her again? **** how does he face his wife and friends also?

I WANT to feel 100% remorse for the girl (which i do) and the dad and i understand i simply wasnt there but i cant shake the feeling that i NEVER leave.

I'd love to respond, but since I don't have kids, what kind of credibility do I have?

The closest scenario would be some ****ers going after my sister. Yeah, I'd do my best to keep them at bay for her to hopefully get away.

This thread is dark.

It's the same for me with the wife. I'd rather die defending her than live with the fact that she was hurt. Of course, I might end up dead and she gets raped anyway. But...at least I won't know about it.

The smartest move might be to do what this dad did. At least he has a chance of getting help - or a baseball bat. If he says no and they kill him they're still going do whatever they want to her anyway so staying and getting killed doesn't change the outcome in the least.

Being a parent and never having been confronted with anything even remotely like that I don't know how smart I'd be.

Leave my daughter with four/five armed black teenagers? Not a chance in hell.

Yup, I agree with you. I would carry the guilt with me forever if I were the father. But then again what could he have done if he stayed? This is a terrible situation and part of me says it makes sense to try to get help, then the mother in me says I would never leave my kid. Awful.

Would you leave them with four or five armed white teenagers?

That's what keeps going through my head. I've never been in that situation so thankfully I can only say what I *think* I would do, which is stay. The idea of going for help makes sense given that they were armed and he wasn't.

Gee, I must be psychic. I made a wild guess that the perps all look like Obama's son. And whaddaya know. Especially since none of the stories mentioned their description. I wonder if Obama will cry.

In this case, the father wouldn't have been sacrificing himself for his child, he would have died a meaningless death. leaving his daughter to not only have to deal with being raped, but with the death of her father. He made one of the most difficult decisions any parent could ever face and he made the right choice. There wasn't anything he could have done to stop the rape, so he had to make the unimaginably horrific choice to allow one tragedy in order to protect his daughter from an even greater one. We all want to protect those we love, but dying a meaningless death isn't going to do that. My prayer is that the daughter understands the horror her father felt in making that choice.

1.) i personally dont see any smarts in it.
2.) IMO his chance is smaller than if he stays
3.) this i also doubt, i doubt because while id be dead i doubt the stick around after a gun shot or two and rape her. But like i said in the other thread it is possible that i get killed, we both get killed, they subdue me and make me watch or all of the above but its a risk i take. I definitely know i would be incapable of leaving her.
4.) this is also true . . but i can really come up with a scenario that i leave, it would have to be VERY specific and not based on this story.

For me, that simply selfish. Your wife would now be living with both the rape and your death...
