Sad news, brilliant visionary and chameleon who constantly reinvented himself. I suppose his heavy Malborough habit played a part.

I thought this was a joke. His new album just came out for Pete's sake.

Wow. I didn't even realize he was in poor health.

You would have thought there'd be something in the news about it before now.
 
Had been listening to some of his tunes just recently with my Dad. He was a fan.

Just heard. I came to him through his covers, took me years to "get" him, but when it clicked, it clicked.

Some celebrities manage to keep that stuff private. This was the first I'd heard about his illness.

Sad day.
 
Never new he had cancer.

Sad. There a lot of his material I really like!
 
Suffragette City was one of my all-time favorites.
 
That's a shocker!!

I saw him at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse a whole lot of years ago and he put on a killer show.
 
I"m gobsmacked. I had no idea he was ill.

Amazingly talented artist. I will greatly miss him. I have some terrific memories entangled with his music.

I think he & the band build some great energy here.

He looks very comfortable, at ease, and at home on this stage.

Well, real stars don't have to tell you that they are famous every day. Bowie managed to retain his fame while rejecting his celebrity. Compare that with the talentless, attention whores of today's pop culture.

RIP Ziggy.Future legend becomes history. Sad day.
 
Whoa. That seemed sudden. RIP David Bowie, you were one of the greats.
 
I’d like to think he isn’t really dead, it’s just a cover story because he’s finally finished building his spaceship so he can go home. :2wave:
 
I had the fortune to see Bowie on Broadway in The Elephant Man. Terrific actor. I'm sure that's not news to anyone who saw his concerts.

I like this quote from CNN's article:

As the world mourns Bowie's death, fan Dean Podsta put it best:

"If you're sad today, just remember the world is over 4 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie."

A friend just saw him a few weeks back in NY after a broadway show about him.

Good singer, great character. Another great rocker dies, and the void gets bigger...:(
