They got him on weapons charges. Looks like he had an ingenious plan, but got confused and screwed it up after running out of snack bars. :mrgreen:

This is simply ridiculous:

An officer responding to a tip from the Secret Service tracked down Stockert at the downtown D.C. hotel. He admitted that he had a shotgun and a rifle in his pickup truck, both unloaded, along with ammunition for the weapons, according to a police report.

It's illegal to possess unregistered firearms in D.C.

Why should it be a crime to simply visit our nation's capital while having a gun (loaded or not) in your vehicle?

Is it even possible for a brief visitor to D.C. to get their gun(s) registered?

OK, time for me to get serious. This guy is insane. When questioned, he said that JFK was his father and Marilyn Monroe his mother. Also said he was Jesus Christ, and said that he would **** up the world. Does anybody else, besides me, have a problem with him owning a gun?

As he was being taken into custody, the apparently mentally disturbed Stockert also told authorities that he was Jesus Christ, court documents said, according to NBC Washington.

Stockert also allegedly said: "You picked the wrong person to mess with. I will [expletive] your world up."

No, not me. But I can name four here, off the top of my head that, that won't have a problem with him owning a gun. The reasoning is he's not a criminal. He must first take a pop at the pres, then we can arrest him.
