An Oregon sheriff losing patience with a group of armed anti-government activists occupying federal land on Wednesday strengthened his demand for them to leave, saying, "you don't get to come here from elsewhere and tell us how we're going to live our lives."

Harney County Sheriff David Ward made the comments at a community meeting to discuss the ongoing situation at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, which was seized by the group following a demonstration in Burns on Saturday.

Oregon to Bundy and his band of thugs - GTFO. The sheriff doesn't want them there. The citizens don't want them there. Hell, even the ranchers who are going back to prison don't want them there. The good thing to happen here is that Bundy and his thugs are going to lose their Second Amendment rights. It won't be because the government wants to grab guns. It will be because, when the dust finally settles, Bundy and his thugs will be convicted felons. Good!!

You do realize that the only reason convicted felons lose their gun rights is because of gun grabbers, right? :lamo

They're a buncha drama queens.

I pulled the video out on its own, because it's excellent, and well worth the 2 mins:

Two things struck me:

1 - The locals really despise the Bundy's and what they're doing!

2 - Dayem, the Sheriff is really a heartfelt guy. I wish he was on my PD. He'd make a great neighbor!

"You don't get to come here and tell us how to live our lives..."

More irony. Bundy's don't like the government telling them how their lives...but they don't seem to have a problem telling others how to live theirs.

I think a lot of the locals were insulted that people from the outside thought they couldn't think or stand up for themselves.

I hear the militants ordered pizza. And there were sightings of some of them eating at a diner.

This whole thing is becoming a sad joke...

The real irony here is, the entire episode will end up defused simply because so few give a **** about what they claim they are doing.

This low-key do not panic response by "Federal Officials" and the local sheriff suggests a complete lack of concern over this "militia." No hostages, no threats, no explosives, no key target held by the militia... a ****ing bird watching station has become a camp sight.

I bet the FBI ends up quietly negotiating with them to a quiet end after enough time has passed letting even this group know that no one cares.

Add the local Indian tribe to the list of those who don't want them there. http://m.nydailynews.com/news/natio...n=Feed:+nydnrss/news/national+(News/National)
BURNS, Ore. — The leader of an American Indian tribe that regards an Oregon nature preserve as sacred issued a rebuke Wednesday to the armed men who are occupying the property, saying they are not welcome at the snowy bird sanctuary and must leave.

The Burns Paiute tribe was the latest group to speak out against the men, who have taken several buildings at the preserve to protest policies governing the use of federal land in the West.

“The protesters have no right to this land. It belongs to the native people who live here,”

No one cares this time, so yeah I can see this ending quietly(thank God), and the Bundy's and the rest of the militia slipping away during the night. BUT 1 of these times when these Bundy's are craving for their 15 mins. of fame someone is going to shoot, probably by mistake and one of these 'occupations' or 'protests' are going to turn into a Ruby Ridge. Then of course even though these Militia people and the Bundy's are looking for drama and fame and a confrontation the right will of course put all the blame on the government.

I've always felt that once one's punishment has been completed in full (including probation), that the full of their rights should once again be recognized.

Thanks for posting the video.

This whole temper tantrum by Bundy and his little squadron is starting to become a complete bust. Am certain Bundy thought he would be supported by the locals but in turn neither the local community nor the Hammonds want anything at all to do with them.

The local law enforcement have done a great job of not taking Bundy's bait. Just let the morons sit out there in the visitor's center and eventually they will tuck their tail up their butts and sashay out.

My only comment might be:

"Oregonians seem to be a different crowd than Nevadans"

I guess I'll leave it at that.

Their plan was to take over the federal government and they start by taking over a bird sanctuary. More irony. lol But I think your right about the FBi and the militants are starting to get the message..."no one cares".

Ya that and that the outlaws are claiming to be saviors of the victims, but the alleged victims call the wanna be saviors their abusers. Nice to see those who are trying to use victim culture theory to justify their aggression being shot down.

I hope they catch the people sending the sheriff death threats.

I think they are the same, neither place, the Red territory of Oregon (as apposed to say Portland) nor Nevada are going to tend to welcome indignation tourists.

More of the same

The leaders of the Burns Paiute tribe have a message for the men and women who have taken over the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge outside Burns, Oregon: "Go home. We don't want you here."

The message came from several tribe members whose ancestors fought and died over portions of that land long before the ranchers and farmers had it, long before the federal government even existed.

The tribe is still fighting over land use but now works with the federal government's Bureau of Land Management to save its archaeological sites.

"We have good relations with the refuge. They protect our cultural rights there," said tribal council Chairwoman Charlotte Rodrique.

I agree, but this is not the Bundy's fight. Who the hell do they think they are, outsiders attempting to force what they want down the throats of others, who don't even want them there?

They should've arrested Bundy's daddy when he pulled his illegal stunt. That they didn't probably opened the door for this crap by his son.

ironically, the Bundy gang up there is acting in direct contravention to their very own words when they got there.... words to the effect of " we're just here to support whatever you guys do ( the locals).. you guys are in charge.we'll follow."

then the went off on thier own and and had a little party at a wildlife refuge

I dunno; it looked to me like the Bundy clan had an awful lot of support there, even from local LE.

Ok, and if Indignation Tourists from Or turned up in NV? And do we even know where all these people came from, I mean we know where their leader comes from and for sure he has some of his local posse with him, but are they all that?

Dont count on it till someone you trust tells you what the answer is....... maybe he did a social media round-up of the like minded collecting from all of America. I know some from Olympia Wa went to Ferguson, it was all over my facebook.

Actually, it's my understanding a significant number of Bundy Ranch supporters were from out of state:

"But after footage of a BLM agent using a stun gun on Bundy's adult son went viral in far-right circles, hundreds of armed militia supporters from neighboring states flocked to Bundy's ranch to defend him from the BLM agents enforcing the court order."

Source: The Atlantic: The Irony of Cliven Bundy's Unconstitutional Stand

And I remember several interviews with the local LE where they seemed reasonably supportive, but I don't have any sources at hand.

Compare this to Oregon, where the Bundy's seem to be universally disliked.

Sir, we are not communicating.

You said that OR is not like NV and I said that yes they are because people of NV would no more like people from OR blowing in and committing illegals acts claiming that they were doing it to save the people of NV than if the situation was reversed.

Now, do you agree with me or not, and if not why not?

I disagree.

As I chronicled above, the Nevadans seem to accept the outsiders flocking to the Bundy ranch, whereas in Oregon they didn't.
