Well it's still standing this morning, according to NYT.

And this one burned from top to bottom, unlike our own towers where fire was confined to only about 10 floors.

I guess Dubai uses better steel than we do. Or, conversely, New York uses low quality steel? Didn't Kevin Ryan address that point?

Glad nobody died in Dubai. It will be interesting to see if the building is condemned or put back into service.

From your own link, which lists WTC1, 2, & 7, and was conducted for NIST,
In order to have been included in this incident tabulation, fire needed to have been judged the proximate cause for the building collapse (partial or total). Hence, any collapses due primarily to explosions, impacts, earthquakes, wind, and other construction or design factors were beyond the scope of this survey, even if fires had developed during the course of these events.

Looks like your link doesn't even agree planes were the cause for total collapse of WTC1 and 2. Not to mention that no plane hit WTC7.

To return to the topic, which isn't other posters or the WTC, the UK's Telegraph discusses the fact that up to 70 per cent of Dubai’s high rise buildings could be clad in flammable materials and need to be retro-fitted.

I've checked several U.S. big-city newspapers; none is suggesting that this is any other than a fire.

Oh god I hat twoofers, the planes were the deciding factor for the total collapse rather than partial as they knocked off the fire insulation and severed steel columns, again take your nonsense to the conspiracy forum where it ****ing belongs.

I wasn't aware that this fire was caused by 757s smashing into the Dubai tower which apparently on your planet had the exact design as the WTC. Take your ****ing horse**** to the conspiracy theory section where it belongs.

Looks like a combination of thins prevented collapse. Firefighting efforts, the location of the fire (on the exterior and on one side of the building).

Seems the Emirates uses flammable materials on the exterior of their buildings. And there have been other exterior fires.

So UAE has hundreds of high-rise buildings that are clad with flammable composite material panels. Excuse me if I don't claim to be concerned but with cable news I guess I am suppose to be after the feckless coverage of this high rise going up in flames only on one side.

Why should I care when the people in Dubai didn't seem to let it damper their New Year's Eve celebration. The huge fireworks display and all festive activities went off as scheduled while the damn high rise burned.

That's an interesting theory twoofer:

6. What caused the collapses of WTC 1 and WTC 2?
Based on its comprehensive investigation, NIST concluded that the WTC towers collapsed because: (1) the impact of the planes severed and damaged support columns, dislodged fireproofing insulation coating the steel floor trusses and steel columns, and widely dispersed jet fuel over multiple floors; and (2) the subsequent unusually large number of jet-fuel ignited multi-floor fires (which reached temperatures as high as 1,000 degrees Celsius, or 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit) significantly weakened the floors and columns with dislodged fireproofing to the point where floors sagged and pulled inward on the perimeter columns. This led to the inward bowing of the perimeter columns and failure of the south face of WTC 1 and the east face of WTC 2, initiating the collapse of each of the towers. Both photographic and video evidence—as well as accounts from the New York City Police Department aviation unit during a half-hour period prior to collapse—support this sequence for each tower.
