Maybe we will see a new Emir in the coming days. Hopefully this does not put an end to democratic reform.

Probably had to drop off some gold.

Woah! This is a very, very odd report.

[h=1]Mystery of emergency landings of Qatari royal planes in Switzerland

Something very strange and exceedingly hush-hush has happened here. I wonder how long before we get to know exactly what has taken place.

Medical emergency, apparently. Must have been pretty high up in the hierarchy to require an entourage that required at least seven planes, one of which was an airbus! Sounds rather ominous. I do hope whoever required medical attention will recover.

Broken leg on holiday. Didn't fancy Moroccan health care.

It is unlikely they would go to all of that trouble over something as simple as a fractured leg. Probably a more serious medical condition requiring a specialist.

What could possibly require a flotilla of 9 aircraft, including a whole Airbus, flying between Qatar and Switzerland in the dead of night? A broken leg alone would make the mobilisation ludicrously extreme, even by the standards of the bloated, corrupt oilocrats of the Gulf. I suspect something along the lines of a real or rumoured coup attempt.

His staff could easily be that big. It is like that when the prince from Saudi comes to Colorado.
